I wouldn’t go so far as to say “heavy metal band” given I find both sets scream “Rainbooms”, but no biggie. Thanks for letting me know about the shorts.

They weren’t in the movie. They were just teasers…Which I think works. The ones in the teasers don’t exactly fit the style of their songs, since they look more like something a heavy metal band would wear.

Interesting departure from the outfits shown in the shorts. Nice outfits all around.
 
And speaking of shorts, are they part of the movie proper, or were they just pre-release teasers?

About the VA cast, it bugs me a lot. Have we heard Tara Strong, Tabitha Saint Germain and Claire Corlett sing as THEIR OWN characters? When was the last time Shannon Chan-Kent voiced, not only sang as, Pinkie Pie? Or Becky Shoichet voicing Twilight Sparkle since the very first episode?  
Have we seen their voice cast outtakes, like those in Japan? I watched some of those videos firsthand. I may not understand Nihongo a lot, but yeah.  
Just my 20 bits.
 
I’ll be looking forward to an Applejack solo.

Gonna have to disagree on that and it’s kinda funny when you think about it.  
S1 premier, S2premier/closer, S3 premier, and S4 premier/closer are all episode where Twilight has the idea that it’s is a job for her and her only, but again she is proven wrong in that regard, punched in the stomach for stray from the idea of friendship is magic. Though in Twi’s kingdom’ case, she was given a task only she could do.

kinda? these episode (like any other episode in the show) jumps from different views, like how in the princess twiligh episode it keep jumping from Twi/spike, to celestia and luna (with twi as a bystander), the group minus twi and spike dealing with the black vine problem.

It would be extremely interesting if we say Sunset’s origins on how she was before EQG1, as much as we would love to see her save the day, and you didn’t come off as hating. I understand your POV.

Well yes, other characters have had moments to shine in them, but again, they are Twilight episodes since we follow her and her alone. Yes, she has failed, screwed up, and even had to be saved, but It’s usually up to Twilight.
 
Again, no hating. It didn’t bother me in any of the specials because it handled it all really well…It just seems kind of forced in EQG 2 to me.

Yeah it would be confusing…Of course, maybe it wouldn’t be so confusing if bookhorse didn’t somehow create a portal that can work anytime she wants so she can save the day….
 
Why couldn’t it have been about Sunset taking down the Dazzlings without magic, or even ‘earning’ her magic as she redeems herself. There is so much they could have chosen to do….
 
I’m sorry if I come off as aggressive or hating. I’m not. I look forward to this movie and I enjoyed the last one, problems and all. Heck, there isn’t an episode in this series I ‘hate’, because even the ones I dislike had something I really enjoyed in them.

They kinda do.  
Nightmare moon wasn’t Twi, it was the element and the 6 of them.  
Discord? All six of them failed to resist his influenced, Twi only got out of her rut by her memories with the others, and once again they helped each other get their identities straight and defeated discord.  
Chrysalis: Twi helped Cadance who got the group on Twi’s side after twi dropped more spaghetti than that super mario show. And then it was Cadance and Shining’s love that created that shockwave.  
Sombra: Cadance and Shining keep them safe long before they got there, Aj,Rd, etc all helped keep the crystal ponies in good spirits (remember they can’t help the heart if they are cowering in fear) Twi also fell for everyone of Sombra’s traps and Spike helped her out of all three. Spike got the heart out of the tower and Cadance was the one who blew up Sombra.
 
Even outside of the premiers and finales have y’all forgotten all of the times Twilight has got ganked by others’ antics, her own magic, her flaws? Like any other character.

It’s sort of confusing, isn’t it? You know, Sunset voiced by the singing voice of Twilight Sparkle. Maybe there should be another VA of Sunset. Like Grey Delisle, or Kari Wahlgren.

Why though? I mean, can’t we go a special without having Twilight as the main character? Don’t get me wrong, I love them all, some more than others, but why is Twilight always the star, the one learning the lesson, or the only one talking down the bad guy?
 
Can’t we have Applejack buck the bad guy once, after a shoot off, or some epic brawl? You know, like a great western. Heck, they’re doing a comic like that…
 
Or Rainbow fight the monster/bad guy and give the ‘reason you suck’ speech.
 
Honestly, a little variety would be nice.

But hey, maybe Sunset will do enough to be considered their roadie.

Where’s Sunset…Why isn’t Sunset in the band?…COME FRICKIN ON! It wouldn’t be that hard to do it. Sunset’s VA is Twilight’s singing voice. SHE”S PRACTICALLY UP THERE NOW! GAH!
 
I know the movie’s going to be good, but why is bookhorse stealing Sunset’s thunder? She doesn’t need to be in everything!
