I’d reccomend it. I hated the first movie (and by that I mean REALLY hated it and find it one of the worst things of the series), but I felt that alot of the problems from the first movie were absent here.
I was? <_<
Well that didn’t last long. Must you pick a fight?
Besides, that ISN’T what it means. Sarcasm is the use of ironic phrasing to mock things. You were using ironic phrasing to mock the conversation in a overly joking manor. That is both sarcastic AND facetious.
Precisely.
Basic status quo and show revelation discussion. A bit large, but justifiably so. Keeping it surprisingly civil now that I think about it.
Also, sarcasm if I recall, is saying something and not meaning it. Never learned the definition of facetiousness. <.<
Nah, just a disagreement.
The elements of harmony now has a physical manifestation that is oddly familiar. Many of us think that is impossible.
The tone of Twilight’s life and her obligations to Celestia has been altered more then it ever has, the very foundation of Celestia’s involvement from S1E1 to S4E26 has actually, finally, been questioned. By DHX. By McCarthy. Many, MANY, of us thought that was impossible.
The movie has created a very unusual crossroad point. We have simply too many questions and the show can now go in any direction. So until then, I suggest we just sit back, take a look at what was given to us, and remind ourselves one thing…

Your ludicrously high sarcasm aside, you actual have a point. With an incomplete backstory and an already established legendary feat under her belt that was established by Faust (not to mention they are making her more and more a leader each season), RD’s potential is hardly aimless. If RD’s plot is going into a unknown direction, it isn’t moving at a snail’s pace.
Ugh, I know right? And, in the end, the test was to see if she was capable of breaking Celestia’s word….even though that’s exactly what she failed to do when Discord turned traitor?!?! Was risking 7 heroes, your niece and her husband, and an ENTIRE KINGDOM worth it now?
Worst.Teacher.Ever.
@Background Pony #D3C0
Isn’t that assuming Celestia was flawless in her choices?
I thought the whole point of Sunset’s scene with Twilight was that it showed Celestia’s supreme expectations were not her best judgement were not healthy for either of them. Twilight crumbled like a cookie in the movie mentally and morally, but I don’t blame Twilight, its Celestia who gave her about as much choice of direction as a FF 13 game.
I don’t see the point your trying to make. The reason Twilight was made a princess so early is that she is, or was, mentally incapable of saying no. For the exact same reason Celestia is full of shit with her tests, Twilight is like puddy in her hooves. On the other hand, RD is the one who outright says at the beginning of the season she’d hate to be a princess.
@Background Pony #D3C0
I don’t know, I’m not sure whether I’d like it or not, but it would be a lot more interesting for the person withOUT a perfect life becoming a princess. It would at least be a more interesting storyline, that’s for sure.
And it might get Twilight off the Designated Hero route.
Alicornship is not the only thing Rainbow can achieve. Any of her newfound powers can be anything they haven’t even written for yet. Our future can and will determine their past just like has for Tirek and Scorpan. If I have to explain the concept of the future any further, I may develop a desire to push you down an up escalator. :D
Oh well, even though you’re a strawman to the core, at least that’s ONE thing we can agree on wholeheartedly. (shrug)
if you mean something akin to alicorn rainbow dash or the like, I seriously doubt that will ever happen XD
I recently re-watched The Crystal Empire, and I must say, it staggers me how much Celestia risks for the sake of Twilight. Any normal, responsible leader would have spared no effort to secure the empire against the threat of Sombra, but Celestia put them all in danger just so Twilight could experience some bizarre and unclear test. First she insists unequivocally that it has to be Twilight who saves the empire, but then she blows it off at the end and says it was no big deal that Twilight couldn’t follow her explicit instructions. If Celestia had applied that reasoning in the first place, she would have allowed Luna to join them as she had asked.
So look at this thing here: is it a pegasus? No. its an alicorn. Which member of the mane six is an alicorn? twilight.
If rainbow dash had any specialness beyond the other 5 we’d have known it by now, the special connections are meant for twilight, not Dash, and they will continue to be so.
Oh, and yeah, Celestia is totally full of it when it comes to this stuff.
@Background Pony #0118
You guys are just setting yourselves up for a very silly disappointment. This is not foreshadowing, referencing, or even nodding in RD’s direction. How you guys can even suspect that is truly a mystery to me. Never in the entirety of the show has there been any indications whatsoever of any connections between Rainbow Dash personally and all this harmony power stuff, any more than the rest of them. The colors were always coincidental, and no one on the writing team or in the show has ever said anything different. This is all wild speculation based on the flimsiest of “evidence”. If we were to apply your reasoning across the board, we would have to conclude that Spike is related to Twilight because both are shades of purple/violet.
Actually, Luna’s color scheme would fit cosmology even more then the one they chose, so yeah, the last 3 are just as perfect if not more for some of them.
@CronoM
Eh, no problem. There’s no rule against writing a thorough argument.
And yeah, that is the scene I was talking about.
White like Celestia? Dark Blue like Luna? Yellow like the sun?
Or even Purple like the Ursa Major. All of these would of been perfectly fine examples of godly symbolism, the last two even for cosmology, without evoking RD’s imagery to the audience.
Your using just a few examples, then saying you’ve perfectly applied Occam’s Razor? What is this I don’t even…
Thanks :)
Sorry, I tend to go in excessive detail sometimes.
Wait, Celestia? When did she argue with…oh that’s right, when Celestia insisted Twilight went alone in EG, RD insisted that the group go with Twilight on her journey to the human world, and Celestia argued against that said it would upset the balance of the dimensions…
…but then they established in this movie that it was a lie and it would merely be confusing to have 5 of the same people, even though using disguises and exposing themselves to the human Mane 5 would of made Twilight’s story a lot more believable.
Wow, Celestia sure likes making up tests for Twilight on the fly doesn’t she? I know Trollestia isn’t real, the real Celestia wants to make Twilight an all important hero, but her obsession with these tests that risk the lives of others are absurd.
@Background Pony #CE15
Can you pleeeease provide some context of why your statement is true? You are basically using the ‘Why are you arguing with my perspective? My perspective is RIGHT!’ gambit.
I don’t see what other color they could have chosen. Sure glad they didn’t make him pink or green. This entity is clearly meant to have a kind of cosmological look, but making him black would have been too dark. So, this is what we have. Occam’s Razor people, come on.
And by the way, the rainboom incident may have contributed to the cutie marks of the mane six, but the point of that episode was the connection between them all, not the “specialness” of Rainbow Dash in particular.
