“…Hoku-wha-huh…???”
“Nothing.”
Kinda wanted one of the two of them to explode or something, rather than just “I used a technique that negates your technique, then causes half the next episode to occur with flashbacks!”
Not bad, though.
Well, he tried. Didn’t entirely work out.
Will Anji kill Sanosuke with the rock-breaking method to Sanosuke’s face?
’Cause that would be pretty……. messy.
Nah, s’alright. Probably could’ve done that better. I’m not particularly good at this reference thing.
OH! Sorry, my bad. I thought it was directly referencing the scene that the link took me to. I apologize. :(
The picture was mainly because I wanted to join in with the rest of the comments going on about people smashing rocks and making a reference. Note that Anji mentions that if Sanosuke can’t learn the technique in a month Anji will kill him. And while he’s explaining the technique, he’s not teaching it. He mentions that the technique wasn’t meant to be taught to others. So it’s more of a do or die situation.
The thing was supposed to imply, for those who got the reference, that Maud would react in a similar manner.
Sorry, you’d said “If you don’t learn it in a month”, then just showed the picture, which has a link in which the guy is telling another guy how to do it.
Ergo, the logical train of thought becomes “That guy will explain it.” My bad, my misunderstanding… well… I still don’t know what the picture was posted, for… scratches head sheepishly
Well, no. He’s not much of the training sort. He is, however, the first thing that came to mind when I read this comic. Helps that that’s also the first “break rock by punching” guy I was ever introduced to.
… She’ll have that guy train Trixie, instead?
Ah yes, that, too :3
I think of Monkey D. Garp from One Piece stating how he trained to fight a guy by punching mountains to death.
I think of the breaking point technique from Ranma 1/2, since it’s basically exactly this.
I think of Feng Wei’s ending from Tekken 5, only it’s a boulder and not a mountain.

Headcanon accepted.
Trixie: “WHAT! Trixie is not informed of such contest.”
Maud Pie: “I am representing my family since my (younger) sister represents the Cakes.”
Trixie: “Please, Trixie needs to see more of your family business.”
Maud Pie: “Have I not told you that our mother was trained by our father after their wedding? Carving cliffs smooth while I was still a foetus?”
Trixie: “WOW! Trixie is now convinced. Maybe one day, Trixie will surely beat my rivals.”
Maud Pie: “That’s how Equestria was made.”
