Personally, i hate it because it’s forced and ignores Twilights character in order to make her attracted to the stereotypical “Cool boy.”
 
Julian here at least tries to give his flash some character here and there so it’s fine, but since it’s still based on Chad mcBland i’m just incapable of liking it as much as i otherwise would, simply our of sheer principle.

Not sure if you’ve noticed, but a FlashLight pic has to be of rather poor quality to end up with a negative score, even if the pictures tend to get a disproportionate large amount of downvotes compared to other pairings or pictures in general.

It happens so often on flash images, but dont ever say that on any of the Mane six X Mane six or people will beat you to a pulp.

That sounds about right to me.
 
If Flash had his character fleshed out more, then I probably wouldn’t have any problem with him ending up with Twilight.
 
Personally, I was hoping Rainbow Rocks would change my opinion of him, maybe give his character a little more depth… but that didn’t work out, and that ship tease in that film felt as forced to me as all those other times in the previous film.
 
That’s pretty much my reason for disliking it so much. He’s still just too boring and flat as it stands right now.

Maybe people think they can stop the Flashlight by hating it hard enough?
 
In a way, I have seen artists get very upset when their art (often times characters and ships they really like) gets thrashed. After a while, a person may just feel angry when they make the art knowing it’s going to get unfair criticism/hate, or they may just avoid posting it after a while (or just get soured on it, because they can’t draw what they want and share it without getting grief.)
 
I can’t imagine anyone downvoting these thought that far along though.
 
Full disclosure, I don’t like the ship, but that’s a pending opinion. If there is a EqG series, and Flash is developed a little more, then I doubt I’d have a problem with it, because I’m sure he’s a decent guy.
 
Right now though, he’s still a little bit of the generic hearthrob musician with little development. Canon or not and limited time to develop him or not, it rubs me the wrong way (not enough to filter out Flashlight or to downvote it, I guess.) I don’t think that’s no more wrong than disliking other ships.

1- Look at the votes. Anything with Flash, and particularly Flashlight, has a vastly disproportionate amount of downvotes.
 
2- There’s always someone commenting about how terrible a character/ship it is.

It is kinda sad that they routinely downvote every pic with Flash in it no matter how damn good the quality is. Doubly so for any Flashlight pic.
