In the new movie, they openly mocked Magical Mystery Cure’s original premise on how Twilight became a princess, and they villainized the morality of Celestia’s expectations for Twilight and Sunset and what it does/did to them. The main conflict for Twilight in the movie is her putting her friends at risk due to the morality flaws and Celestia’s teachings in all of S3 and S4’s finales. And unlike Crystal Empire, the plot doesn’t ignore it. Good Sunset actually points out that what Celestia is doing to Twilight is wrong, from her own experience. Celestia puts almost everything on Twilight instead of all 6 of them, even though it puts everyone at risk.
 
Twilight has a full-on mental breakdown as everything Celestia has been telling her from the beginning of S3 rings false.
