VIVA LA NOCTE
@Beau Skunky oh, he was just getting trolled by some SJ commenter and he was like “alright fuck you LETS DEBATE!”
But then every stat he brought was from the 80s or early 90s, and made him look awkward and dumb and he was off his game from that point on the entire time. Or using a post-Comey FBI study after their methodology changed that largely everyone thinks is junk.
tl;dr needed Batman prep time, leapt in with Darkwing Duck prep time. I typically don’t watch anyone aside from Blackjack Kent and Razorfist, but I was curious to see how he’d do, funny thing was the comments were yelling the correct stuff at him the whole time (but their respective rooms’ chats were off due to the ‘debate’)
And now Teen Vogue, Heat Street, and Shitaku consider him the second coming of Hermann Goering.
Since then he seems to be owning it by trying to get everyone to block him by mimicking Gilbert Gottfried.
He really shoulda gone in with a wingman because there were some bloody obvious landmines he tripped over too.

While I was never really a fan of him, I’m a li’l curious what these “racist” things he said were. Considering some people online tend to exaggerate what “racism” is, (Like for example, that white girl who thought a Hulu doll decoration was “racist”)_ and I haven’t yet seen the actual comments he made, and such.

Yeah, when people were freaking out over that I was rolling my eyes, but recently he’s been getting past “offensive to PCs” to be “actually offensive.” Like, stating racist things about Mexicans and similar views. From his responses and social media, it’s also pretty likely he doesn’t act like a dick for the sake of comedy but is, in fact, an actual dick. Those things add up enough to make me want to get off the fandom rollercoaster.

I remember people freaked just ‘cause he used the word “retarded” once. (In the ‘90s slang sense, he wasn’t actually insulting “mentally-challenged” people.)

I actually have had “mentally handicapped” friends who actually call things “retarded” too, and aren’t offended by the term. One of the reasons I dislike political-correctness so much is, it’s teaching people to be easily offended, to take mere words to heart, and to be offended on other people’s behalf. Plus I always see double-standards with P.C.

Another reason I love this, is because I can’t stand people who try to “thought police” others like that online.
“You can only say this, but you can’t do that! Blablabla!” Shuddap!

I remember watching a archived Twitch stream of Jon and a friend of his playing SRtT and someone had asked Jon in the chat if he was a brony,to which Jon replied something along the lines of he wasn’t a brony,but he thought the show was fine and he was fine with bronies.

Actually, you know what, sorry for even responding to that. This conversation is absolutely ridiculous and deserved absolutely none of my time. Hopefully this doesn’t continue, because it is hands down the stupidest thing I’ve ever argued about in my life. Here’s another Pinkie:

I guess some people are just ridiculous like you are being, not that I expected much since you call literally everyone who ever watched and liked the show a fan of it.

Not anyone who ever liked something, someone who currently likes something. Yes, learn what the word fan mean. You can be a casual fan, but you’re still a fan.

@toxicitzi
Then Again, EqF Was the only place I ever had to have this kind of dumb discussion in ……

Cool. You still don’t understand what fan means.

@toxicitzi
@Background Pony #C287
As for that comment about myself, just, wow. First off, I actually have no idea what you’re talking about, I don’t care. Second, you’re a bloody fucking idiot, sorry to say.

I’m a fucking idiot, because you can’t grasp something that I’ve stated in the most basic possible way. Awesome.

@toxicitzi
you and this tendency to exacerbate terms like these is uncanny and I can’t understand it, it’s as if you take the most extreme examples of them as their one and only definition.

Dude, all I said was that the term “Terekkie” is a word that obsessive Star Trek fans tend to use to identify as so people know how much they love the show. If I was going to the most extreme example, I’d say all Star Trek fans are overweight unemployed losers who live with their moms and are forever alone. I didn’t say that, I said that Trekkies like Star Trek a lot. Deal with it.

@toxicitzi
but anyway, it’s good to know where you’re coming from. Before, I wasn’t sure if I should keep going, now though, now I know it’s best if I stopped here, because there is just no talking to people like you.

Cool. This is like the tenth time where you’ve failed to understand anything I’ve said to you, I didn’t mention that before because I didn’t want to embarrass you. I don’t have this problem communicating with anyone else.

But yeah, let’s end this because we’ll get no closer to you understanding what fan means or the fact that I didn’t say anything stereotypical about Trekkies at all, them liking Star Trek is kinda what makes them Trekkies.

Holy shit, this whole thing is a conversation that should have never happened. Here’s a cute Pinkie to make up for it:

what you said earlier though is that trekkies by definition, are the more obsessive part of their fanbase, which isn’t true for them just as it isn’t true for us bronies.

Yeah, and I agree with that. The only people I’ve ever seen that would call themselves Trekkies, love Star Trek way more than the average person and have no shame admitting that.

@toxicitzi
this is the oxford dictionaries and primary definition of every trekkie in existence. Now, you can feel free to argue however long you want, the fact of the matter is that to them, a trekkie is what a brony is to its respective show, there’s not a more complicated formula to it than that..

Yeah, because the Oxford Dictionary definition is really the only thing you can trust for a completely made up word that’s only context relates to the Star Trek fandom.

All I’m saying is that people who actively identify as Trekkies, tend to like Star Trek a lot. If they were just casual fans, they’d call themselves that. There are some (not many) casual fans that do identify as Trekkies, but I’m going to be honest and say I don’t think they’ve earned that word. It should only be used for the superfans to use with pride.

With Brony people who are lesser fans tend to use the word so, it isn’t the same as Trekkie.

@toxicitzi
Everything else derives from an uninformed and popular consensus of the outside world, how they perceive us and how others chose to describe us. You didn’t use it as a derogatory term, but you did refer to the definition adhering the stereotype, which isn’t true at all for all fans.

You’re acting like I said “Black people love fried chicken” or something. A Trekkie isn’t something you’re born as, it’s something you identify as based on your love for Star Trek. I’ve presented zero amount of stereotypes or offensive comments to them.

I remember you’re the dude on EqF that said I was sexist against women for saying that in the MLP universe from what we’ve seen so far, only females are alicorns and that there’s a possibility male characters can’t become alicorns based off of Blueblood. (Which was literally just a fact about the show, by the way. Not a statement on how it should be at all.) Is this just what you do, get ridiculously offended in ways that make no sense at all. I said nothing sexist then and I’m saying nothing stereotypical now.

well, true, but it’s more of a shits and giggles type scenario, in fact I don’t see anyone taking it very seriously nowadays, except a few people on both sides of the console wars that can’t seem to move on.

I never said being obsessive was a bad thing, dude. It’s not a negative stereotype that people who call themselves Trekkies enoy the show a lot more than most. That’s not a bad thing, there are lots of things I’m obsessive about.

I’m obsessive about MLP, I don’t consider this a negative thing about myself, it just means I find a lot more enjoyment from the show than most would. You’re making a shitload of assumptions about what I said.
