Someone else can post the link (might be here as text on an image or something) but from what I remember it was supposed to be the big season 2 finale that would finally go into what happened with the human Sunset. There were also plans for a season 3 but since Hasbro cancelled Equestria Girls so abruptly, we just ended part way through season 2 on a random special not intended to be the final one.

Is there any confirmation from the writers on this?
I dont see a human Sunset ever fitting into the EG canon. They actively hinted at human Twilight before she was even revealed but never mentioned a thing of there ever being two Sunsets, not even a passing identity theft joke.
For Sunset, she would either had to A) kill a human version of her and replace her, B) there was no human Sunset or no human Sunset anymore, and used her resourcefullness to get ID and such, or C) just use Human Sunset’s name while somehow avoiding the IRS and other organizations that would notice two people using that Birth Certificate and ID in two completely different locations.
She wasn’t exactly keeping a low profile at school. B was obviously the most likely choice for any dimension hopper.

They were going to. The Sunset meets Sunset screenplay was unfinished because the generational transition was approaching. I haven’t done any research, but I’d hazard EG’s resources were formally diverted to MYM or TYT (can never remember, lol) around the time post for ANG began.

I can see human Sunset enrolling in Crystal Prep Academy and rising through the ranks to become Cinch’s star pupil just like Human Twi used to be. She would have the support of the Shadow 5, who’d later become Human Sunset’s friends after getting defeated by the Canterlot 7 and become the “friendship preacher” of CPA.
