Great And Powerful Trixie

SA is exceptionally hard… on the later difficulties. On normal, it’s still pretty tough, but easy is about as easy as the others. Imperishable Night has 7 lives (I think) instead of Subterranean Animism’s 3, but this one has infinite continues.

I honestly think UFO was the hardest game, mostly because I end up getting screwed out of the vault pieces (or UFOs if you prefer) due to the frantic nature of the game. Now, to this day I HAVE 1ccd’d every game on Normal at least once, except for HRtP, but that took forever because of UFO and SA.SA is a close second to UFO in difficuty in my opinion.

This is funny how everyone talking that SA is hardest in the series. To this day SA is THE ONLY Touhou game that I was able to finish, besides fightings.

Mods see you
God, this game. I won’t argue with anyone who says this is the hardest game in the series. Seriously, if you’re going to try Touhou, don’t start with Subterranean Animism. I’ve gotten past Parsee, on easy mode, once, and failed on Yuugi. The biggest problem is the system the lives run on. You can’t choose how many lives you start with, and you can only get lives through drops that count for a fifth of a life, which drop from only bosses and mid-bosses. I’m not a master of Touhou, but I can usually get to stage five on easy. I can’t get past Parsee, the second stage boss, due to her cards making it hard to hit her and taking too long to time out. I’m happy I started with Imperishable Night.

On the better side of things, I love how the characters are designed, and their cards are unique, which keeps me coming back to this game.

Basic story: Utsuho got the power to manipulate nuclear fusion and intends to turn the world the games take place in into a burning hell. Literally.
