No offense man but there is no way Hasbro is going to go that direction. I get what you mean by it becoming another The Walking Dead, but while both show are admirable, it wouldn’t make it right for a tv show and movie series for kids to go into an adult drama like The Walking Dead. The reason Hasbro got away with Pinkie and Twilight being insane, a dying bird with a skin conditon, flies vomiting each other up to form one single fly and Sweetie Belle being dragged into Hell was because of the fact that those moments stopped and went back to the normal kid friendly tone. I don’t think an old man being decapitated by a one eyed psychopath, a cop accidentally shooting a teenage girl in the head while the girl’s brains spray everywhere, a midget zombie eating a huge chunk of a bearded man’s arm of while blood poors everywhere and our main character seeing a demonic hollusination (correct me if i spelled that wrong) of his dead wife can at least be messaged in either Friendship is magic or Equestria Girls. You make a good point, but there is no way it is happening.

Some High Schools have 5 years, mine had 4 and they let you take a voluntary 5th year. As for Rainbow rocks it takes place in the the same year as Equestria Girls and before Winter according to IDW’s Holiday Special.

If Hasbro seems to go this route in the next Equestria Girls, MLP will officially become another The Walking Dead.

My personal headcanon is that Sunset is actually in her 20’s (not much younger than her pony form) and is pretending to be a teenager for reasons known only to her - probably because she wants to maintain access to that portal. She went through high school once already, tried to get a position at CHS but couldn’t, so needed to find some way to stay there. In my estimation/fevered mind, she’s been in the EQG-verse for at least 7 years.
 
This explains why she has not physically changed over four years when the Other Five clearly have. It also makes her relationship with the underage Flash Sentry delightfully creepy. Oh, and it explains how a girl who was born with hooves has the dexterity to do complicated guitar shredding - she’s been practising for several years (she is a canonical genius; girl’s probably a quick study at everything). No one knew because no one bothered to ask her. Flash might have known.
 
How does she keep up the illusion and avoid alerting the administration? Combination of having kept a low profile when she was still a teen (remember she was an antisocial bookworm too), falsifying records, and just not going to class. Also, Sunset likely figured out pretty quickly that EQG-verse Celestia is nowhere near as smart or observant as the real thing.

yeah, there has to be a time difference. it shows that SS has been in school for at least 3 fall formals, which means in Eq1 it was her 4th fall formal, so she was a senior, yet shes still in school in RR. It’s been a year since Eq1 in equestria, but apparently not for the human world considering shes still in school.

Adagio isn’t stupid. It’s probable she used her siren powers at some point to finagle some sort of home and income.
 
We don’t actually know how long they’ve been in the EQG-verse. Starswirl existed over 1000 years past, yes, but there’s a distinct possibility that the interstice between the Ponyverse and the Humanverse can act as a time-hole sometimes. Otherwise, it means that Humanverse has been culturally and technologically frozen in time for a millennium, which I really don’t buy. Besides, even mostly depowered, after that long, Adagio would have easily built up enough experience and capital to buy the entire world. Since she hasn’t, it suggests they’ve only been there for a few years at most. Possibly even less time than Sunset has (due to freaky timey-wimey stuff).

Also come to think of it, theyve been on this earth for, presumably, 1000 years. One would think they’d have a place to stay by now and they probably retreated back there.

I can imagine Adagio being forced to play the mother figure for the other two. Especially with Sonata.
