He was mostly covered in jelly, but the part that wasn’t is gray and blond-maned.
Like I said, the dad’s DNA is in there somewhere. That’s why not looking too much like Derpy fits. Sparkler takes after her and Dinky’s dad.
The others are too much like Derpy to be her kids (unless there’s a certain mirror from the G1 comics involved) but they can be other relatives.
I’m not sure about the genetics(not that pony genetics have ever been something simple if even comprehendible) nor even if Sparkler is really truly related to Dinky or Derpy,more likely a baby sister or a family friend to me(every other derpling is grey and blond but she’s the odd pony out?). Still I refuse to believe that all of them are not in someway related to Derpy(cousins,siblings,alternate timeline reflection)! Though I’ve never thougth about the jelly pony guy before…

I go with “Sparkler and Dinky are her kids, the rest are other relatives of hers.” Think of it; they’d not look just like you took Derpy and shrunk her if they were her children; Daddy’s DNA is in there somewhere.
So yeah, the nigh-identical Derplings are siblings and maybe a cousin or two. (While we’re at it, so is Hugh Jelly! He’s got her color scheme under the jelly.)
