Details can be so much more if you WANT them to be… but then again, if you’re in a zone of comfort, I guess that’s just how it is; I shouldn’t expect change to occur if no one else does.
This is just a vector of *Tolpain’s work; along with the tail.
And details such as holes for body parts are only details.
An artist uses a visual style that suits them - there isn’t a single right way to do everything.
Aw, c’mon, Liggliluff! Those sorts of details are what help artist truly grow in their crafts! You can’t just state what others are doing and/or failing to do, and use that as an excuse for the way you do things!
As good as this is, surely you want to improve? Shading, emotional emphasis, interaction… there’s so much you can work with.
Some artist do think of it - often for wings, when I think about it.
But tails… how does tails work
I’m… gonna have to disagree; when it comes to most images based around anthros and tails, they tend to make images where the clothes are explained through being tailored, or bought for certain needs.
I remember one with Celestia in a leather jacket with zipped-down wing-holes. It was pretty good, and you could tell what the artist was going for with the design; made for all ponies.
But this… mmmm… The tail’s coming from and going out, somewhere.
Or the tail just his through any clothing that appears - no holes.
That’s probably how most people combines tails and clothes in images.
