Sorry if I came across as hostile. I’m Not condoning what they characterized AJ as, and I’m not saying you were condoning the Sweetie Belle option. I’m just pretty tired of the whole “Spike goes after Sweetie right after Rarity lets him down” cliche so many writers seem fond of.

Sweetie Belle as a love interest would have been worse.  
It seems like every time someone wants to ship Rarity with someone other than Spike in a fanfiction, they pair him up with Sweetie Belle immediately afterwards.  
And unfortunately, most of the time, it’s just Sweetie serving as a mini Rarity.  
Heaven forbid Spike move on from his infatuation without hooking up with someone right after. Noooo, he’s so emotionally fragile that he needs to go after his crush’s little sister instead. That’s not at all creepy. (sarcasm)  
It’s really sort of an insult to Spike and Sweetie’s characters, and by this point, it’s so cliche it hurts.

i don’t even get why they needed generic romantic subplot in this or why they need this pair, they shold have ether cut it or if needed spike in relation ship (witch i doubt)they could have someone like sweetie belle and not turned aj into a generic love sick girl

Well to be fair, we don’t know what her reaction to actually falling in love would be like, so its not fair to assume we know she would definetly take it a certain way. If she’s never been in love before then its entirely possible that she wouldn’t know how to handle the new emotions. And most of her conflict came from the fact that she knew that despite his love for Rarity, she would never answer Spike’s feelings and eventually hurt him. Most of the “senpai notice me” stuff spun around the fact that she knew he was barking at the wrong tree, which would end up badly.
 
Also, they also have as much chemistry as almost any other MLP shipping, with very exceptions.  
And the Spike at your Service episode actually gave them quite an advantage over most.

i’m wasn’t saying she was being weak for falling in love i was saying that it was dumb for someone like aj to have fallen love just because he saved her once and even if she did she wouldn’t have been all “oh I Hope spike Senpai Will Notice Me”  
and i can’t remember buying it for one second because they had no chemistry

Falling in love with someone who risked his life to save you despite the seemingly-impossible odds doesn’t make anyone any less “strong” or “self-sufficient”. She was still the strong and confident mare she’s always been.
 
She just fell in love. That doesn’t make you weak.  
Also, if it had been done in virtually any other way people would’ve still found a reason to complain.

I recommend reading the whole thing, since the Applejack-section is a sub-plot, not the main plot of the story. Also, it occurs in “increments”, rather than all at once.

Hey, it worked in the “When Villain Win” comic… sure, it wasn’t SPIKE that helped her, but still…

my only real criticism was how apple jack was handled, i mean did we really need that dum as hell sub plot about her going for spike for absolutely no reason other than that ONE time he saved her i mean really apple jack arguably the strongest and most self sufficient pony go head over hoof for…SPIKE really?
