Two new answers (including another comic) coming up.
Agreed. He’s awesome.
Also, on the superman suit, I always thought the continued underpants looks was… well… to remember where his outfit originally came from, y’know? The whole ‘made by his mom’ kind of deal (which, i admit, is one of those facts which comes and goes with all that repeat rewriting of DC history)
Superman seems like the kind of guy who would continue with a silly thing like that because it’s a direct reminder of how he started and where, in regards to the kents, he came from as a person and as a hero.
I couldn’t agree more with you. New 52 has brought a lot of crap into DC, and Superman’s costume redesign is one such example. And you’re right, Batman’s costume can pull a look like that off. I think it’s because of the color scheme and the fact that Batman’s costume is a full body outfit, meant to look imposing. Superman doesn’t look imposing in those bright colors, and cause, well, he’s Superman.
Also… the red tights were really hot~
Yeah, though can you think of a way to make Superman look appropriately Superman without the overunderpants? ‘Cause I sure can’t.
Batman has pulled off the non-underpants look before, but for some reason they decided to just remove them from the traditional black & grey get up. They really should’ve gone with one of his all black style suits or something.
& man I need an outlet for complaining about this.
Anyways, the traditional Superman suit had a really good distribution of colours which the new one kind of doesn’t, which I think is what I’m trying to say.
Hence I stuck weith the traditional suit.
