I think Knuckles’ pink-complextion, and red hair actually go well with the usual EqG style here. If you look at the EqG versions of Cheerilee, Luna, and such, their skin isn’t the exact same color as their pony self either, but just different hues.
That said, I admit I kinda like Knux’s design here, though he needs gloves maybe.
Hmmm…that would play out differently, and much better. The reason why EqG can pass using different skin colors is that they use pastel colors instead of primary colors, thus explaining why cyan skin works on Rainbow Dash’s EqG form but not for Sonic with blue skin.
If I’m correct their actual skin color is their muzzle color, so they could’ve been made with said color as their skin tone
