easy solution to all this. first, murder well-to-do and stake his head out on a post in front of his unfinished theme park. then take the hit and give up part of ponyville. he won’t be expanding his operation then!

A voodoo shark is an attempt to answer questions the audience might ask with an explanation that just raise more questions  
This is bad guy doing bad guy things  
Well-To-Do obviously does not want the Princesses involved so has he’s hired goon to keep that for happening it is the logical thing to do
 
Of all the thinks to criticize in the arc (and they’re plenty) this is not one of them

From what i heard, the movie has good reason to be mixed in reviews. Tries way too hard to elicit feels and just ends up being melodramatic.

Perfect example of an idiot plot.

  1. Unrealistic reason why letters go missing (mook manages to catch all of them)  
  2. Everyone flat-out ignores the fact they go missing except for Bramble, who becomes Captain Obvious ignored.  
  3. Magical instant mailman Spike is right there to boot.
