Mhhh…I’m afraid this comic is just going to deal with a random episode of Chrysalis live…which is nice and dandy, but come one, after the awesome first number of Fiendship about King Sombra, my expectations were really high for the whole series.
 
I hope I’m wrong about the Chrysalis tale.

katie cook and drawing cohort wrote the first comics in the entire series, featuring chrysalis. was a silly but fun adventure. however it seems that the idw guys behind mlp kept on having the work on stories that really did not fit.
 
they work best when they can work with comedy and slice of life, but their adventure stories are not soo good. the reflection arc, something that needed a bit of darkness, they kept on throwing dumb jokes even into serious situations.
 
what really pissed people off however is the comics twenty five and twenty six. basically main six go to a relative of the apple’s country town. bull bandits are running about causing havoc…….. and they just make twilight NOT beat the living fuck out of the none magical beings than just, you know, beating the fuck out of the none magical beings.
 
the primary issue is that they give no legitimate reason for twilight not to just overpower them, hell no reason that the earth ponies couldn’t either all things considered. this is made worse by the fct the bulls, more than once, hit ponies and burn down a barn as well. be one thing if no one was getting hurt……
 
though the second, personal for me, issue is that they had the full aiblity to create the issue. the uncle who founded the town, chillipeper, was said to have little sense. so why not make it a law HE created be the issue?

I seem to remember a couple other events being taken place “1000 years” ago mentioned in the show and the comics. I might be wrong but I don’t know.
