My Florida red-eared turtle threw himself from our 5th floor. TWICE. He survived both times (what a dude) and yeah, a “naked” turtle is an awful, bloody vision. About 15 minutes ago, my father wanted to kick the guy out, but he adores him. 27 years old and still cruising (but his shell breaking twice has left him a midget).

Considering that a turtle’s shell is actually it’s ribs and spine, This situation would look more like a Mortal Kombat death than anything else.

(Pro tip: don’t remove a turtle from it’s shell. It kills them.)
