Normel Normen thare knows whet’s up.
You mean the IDW-varse.
Certainly not in the IDW-verse.
Depends on how big his company is. If Barnyard Bargains is all across Equestria, then he’s probably only a major shareholder and/or sits on the Board of Directors. If - on the other hoof - Barnyard Bargains is only a local fixture found in Ponyville and its surrounding areas, he probably owns it outright.
Presumably he’s the owner of the company now, his elders having retired.
That’d make more sense.
It wouldn’t be his company’s first shop, since it wouldn’t be his company - it’d be his grandfather’s. It’d make much more sense of he’d said “My Grandfather’s first shop” or “My Family’s first shop.” Of course, semantics are the least of this comics problem.
“My company’s first shop” then?
Just get two plaques! For crap’s sake, they had this figured out as early as the third episode.
Yes, but the Rich family wouldn’t have started their business if the Apples weren’t there.
Oh shit! This conflict is already spreading to real life.
Again, his purpose is the same as Applejack, which is trying to have the town recognize his own family’s role in founding the place. AJ would probably already have Rarity on her side, being friends and all, so Rich is pointing out how his sentimental value correlates to Rarity’s own sentimentality towards her home (and yeah, a bit of one businesspony to another.)
That explains why ponies call him “Mr. Filthy.” xP
Maybe he wants to marry her? I dunno, he’s like 33-34 and she’s about 18-19…
You sure? ’Cause it sure seemed like Rich was trying to turn Rarity against Applejack for his own purposes.
Well, he is a salespony. If there’s one thing salesmen are good at, it’s manipulating people’s emotions.
Err, *not the case for Diamond Tiara.
At least in the case of Diamond Tiara. That’s just an Ex Post Facto reason why she doesn’t want her rival becoming more popular.
Okay, the last comic at least had the excuse for him being manipulated by Diamond Tiara himself. Wtf are they doing to him?
