Yeah, some of the animators confirmed it too. Someone asked about the lack of different body types, it just comes down to time and practicality.
IIRC, Lauren Faust did originally want to have a greater variety of body types in the show, but they determined at that time that it would be more practical for the Flash animators to be able to reuse common assets for frequently-appearing characters.
A lot has changed for them since then in terms of processes and technical ability, which is probably why we see much more body shape variety now. But since the Mane 6 are already established, there’s not really much that can be done for them.

Also colors and eye shapes. But I think that already pretty much confirmed from the very beginning of the show.
Yeah, I wish female ponies had more distinctions in this show, such as different sizes (Twilight being the exception). The male ponies have much more differences (compare Big Mac to Doctor Whooves or Mr Cake for example).
