What a bastard.
I happened to enjoy the G3 movies. Sure, they fell very much on the saccharine end of the scale, but as that was intended, I say they did a good job. They were cute, they were fun, and they had a good message of working together and always sticking by your friends.
And they weren’t insulting anyone’s intelligence, they were aimed at a slightly younger audience than G1 and G4.
Far too many PEOPLE associate the word girly with dumb. Because we were raised to believe that. It is only now that we even can begin to unlearn all these things and become better people. Bronies are most likely the ones that use “girly” derogatorily the least out of any group. Which does make it extra sad when you do still see it happening at all here.
But I hope this picture isn’t implying people hate G3 because it’s girly, because that is not the reason at all. It is just painfully badly made, and insulting to the intelligence of it’s audience.
Lol. But seriously, the amount of people on forums who think I’m a teenage girl is…well, a little worriesome. Your reaction was a joke, Prof, but some of them have really freaked out like that. Particularly this one guy who thought I was 16yo girl and kept hitting on me…until I said “dude, enough already, I’m a 25yo guy” then he freaked out, reported my account, and got me banned from Gaia Online because he felt I was trying to scam him (I wasn’t, I was really uncomfortable with everything he said, and I pointed out his wrong assumption the moment he mentioned that I “was a girl”). No big loss there then. :P
