Being zipped up is really uncomfortable in certain sitting and lying positions.
That is exactly my rational for drawing them that way.
Having said that, I still need to figure out how to draw them better. Hands are hard, be they 3 fingered or 5. XD

I like them for horses. The canon bone that leads to the horse’s hoof is flanked by two residual fingers, now reduced to the two splint bones. If they got hands back, they probably would do so by growing the two other fingers they already have, leading to a three-fingered hoof/hand.
There is going to be more to come. ;)
