Yet it was Twilight’s idea to make things as if the Yaks were there in Yakyakistan. Allow me to explain:
Puts on SJW glasses

See, in a situation that can be as sensitive as this one, it can be perceived that trying to make one feel accommodated to where it “feels like [insert home country here]” can actually reflect a bad perception despite the good intentions behind it. Cultural appropriation is where you take some of another’s culture and try to pass it off as your own or make it seem as if you know all of their customs. So you end up having to try and go for a “perfect” representation of another’s culture, which in turn insults them. The more they feel insulted, they become angry/hostile. And when those hostilities ascend into the diplomatic forum, there tends to be a risk of conflict, thus the declaration of war was provided.

In a nutshell: Twilight tried to appropriate their customs to make it like home, but only succeeded in insulting Yakyakistanian culture.

Throws off SJW glasses

Eww! So that’s what those things do.

No she didn’t; she messed up the “perfect” yak-like accommodations, but everyone did that. It was Pinkie’s party that was completely missing.

It’s her responsibility, but it’s not her fault. Pinkie’s the one that didn’t have the party ready, and Twilight’s not her 24/7 caretaker.
