if I may use an internet saying as an analogy, “intentional shitposting is still shitposting”
the yaks freaking out and smashing stuff was sorta kinda amusing the first time or two, but got real freaking old real quick.
the episode got immensely better after the 6 minute mark when the focus shifted away from the yaks back to the main 6 and pinkie pie
Yes, if you can appreciate the cartoon from an objective point of view like me.
And this is supposed to make it any better?
i fully agree with this.
The yaks were obnoxious, but of course they were. They were intended to be, folks. That was part of their design, and a key element of the plot. Fact is, the writers are trying new ideas beyond the fluffy pink goodness of Ponyville and actively trying to expand the Equestria universe. It’s hit or miss, but as far as I’m concerned, it’s still world building, and that’s more than I can say for 99% of children’s cartoons on the air right now.
Gotcha. That door scene happened so fast i actually missed Spike’s Fate there. I did know about the Piano part, but i gave it a pass since the Yak’s ragged on everyone indiscriminately.
I felt the Yaks were the worst part of the episode, but also felt they were designed to be so, and as such i was able to enjoy the ep as a whole.
Turophobia look it up
Hey, you never know what phobias some people have.
Yeah, it’s silly, but alot of them are.
Not liking certain foods is one thing, being terrified by Quesadillas is ridiculous.
How was it out of character for her?
Was it established she liked cheese Mexican food before?
That line Fluttershy said at the end, that was funny but the way she said it felt a bit out of character for her.
Pinkie Pie was still in character at the beginning and the end of the episode, but when she was talking with her friends at the table, she was acting very creepy, it just didn’t feel like Pinkie Pie at all to me.
You may argue that Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie weren’t acting out of character, but you gotta admit that Twilight being afraid of Quesadillas is pretty stupid and completely out of character for her.
At the beginning when Spike was playing the trumpet the Yaks slammed the door on him, and when 1 the Yaks jumped on Spike and broke his piano.
As for the Yaks, they were pointless dumb new characters is all I can say for them.

Oops I meant it for you.
I really don’t see how they were out of character.
Spike was treated bad twice? I actually can’t recall that, please explain.
Also, since i do believe this is the first time they really had to deal with ….creatures like the yaks and foreign diplomats as a whole, i’d think it’d be hard to predict how they all were supposed to act. It didn’t seem horribly out of character to me.
yes I am very serious,
Twilight, Fluttershy, and even Pinkie Pie all acted completely out of character and Spike was treated very badly again twice in this episode, that makes it a very bad episode for me.
Hm I see. The first half dragged on a little didn’t it? With the whole “YAKS HATE IT, WE MUST DESTROY EVERYTHING!!” getting old pretty soon so I do agree on that. However it wasn’t enough to really dislike the episode imo.
the first half was awful, but the second half was good enough to redeem the episode, imo
Are you serious? Sure this episode wasn’t perfect, but I was still pretty entertained.
Anyway this is indeed pretty adorable.
