Easiest way to make bronies mad is to compare them to Sonic fans.

Really? Some actually preferred it to the console versions. (Plus, it has some nice levels the console ones didn’t have.)
I only played both versions briefly, but I recall “Classic Sonic” played/moved a bit more like the original Genesis games in the 3DS version then he did in the console version. (Where he moved much faster, and differently which some found awkward.)
I also kinda liked how modern Sonic in the 3DS one handled like the “Sonic Rush” DS games kinda.
Though, I kinda preferred the “Sonic Advance” games, sense the DS “Rush” games kinda made you rely on the boost move to much, (making the spindash practically useless) and it was easy to do enough “tricks” to keep It filled constantly, making it also a bit O.P./overused.
Which is probably why they kinda nerfed the boost meter system in “Sonic Colors DS.” (And removed the temporarily “unlimited” part to it.)
If anything, those people are probably referring to the 3DS version of “Generations” to justified their complaints, which is vastly inferior to the console version.
I would give a shit, if they made any new games. There is an upcoming “Sonic Boom” 3DS game, (sense the first 3DS one wasn’t to bad) and that’s about it really.
Sega did apologize to fans recently actually, stating they wish to improve their games. Which is both nice, and a shame to see. (Frankly, I’m not sure some fans will ever be pleased, as I’ve seen some bash even the “better” Sonic games like “Generations”)
Though, I will say the recent 3DS Eshop remake of Sonic 2 (which I purchased) is quite good, and very accurate to the original game. I saw on Miiverse, somebody even recreated the “Ashura the hedgehog” or “green Sonic” glitch.
It also has an amusing “credits/cast roll” animation you can access from the main menu. (Surprisingly, said thing refers to the villain by his old name “Robotnik” instead of “Eggman.” Probably a nod for older fans. The digital manual also refers to Sonic’s home as “Mobius.”)
Haven’t seen that one before.
This will always be my personal favorite.

Well, everyone has their prefered terms. Some older girl MLP fans prefer to be called “pegasisters” then “bronies.” Doesn’t mean they hate those who are “bronies,” or “furries,” and such.
I do find it rather odd when I see fans of anthro’ art/fanart who bash furries constantly, and fans of MLP who bash bronies. I even remember seeing a guy on DA who demonized people who made “fat art,” claiming it’s perverted, gross, and “objectifies” women. Yet, he drew some rather scantly-clad, big-chested female characters alot…
Eh, to each their own. I always saw terms like that people not wanting to be associated with furries due to some form of phobia or whatever.
But i’m very cynical.
I have nothing against furries, but I never really considered myself one. (In fact, my so-called “fursona” on DA “Skunky” was originally a “Star Fox 64” OC/screen-name/nickname from when I was a kid. I made it before I even knew what a furry was.) I was never really active in said furry fanbase really, aside from being into Sonic, TMNT, and Star Fox.
Overall, I prefer the term “anthro,” or “funny cartoon animals.”

Hiyas. :)
Nah, I’m being 100% serious. I like both MLP, Sonic, and I’m a furry. Sonic introduced me to furry to be honest.

Wow, the “trollbait” is spot-on!
Bronies are Sonic fans are so similar, they both deny being furries, yet they very much are.
No one can resist the allure of the furry.
Hey you’re back ! :-)
Yeah, perhaps… It’s a shame Nintendo is so against story-telling, and alternate canons sometimes. Which is odd, considering the Zelda series, Star Fox, and such have some alternate canons, and such already in the games.
The thing about K’Nex and Campbell’s, they have not story to them.
It leads me to think they don’t want any stories outside of the games to happen anymore, if it’s a game they have to go back and forth on details and one of them is story.
It seem with a show, movie, or comic there is less of the back and forth of details and they may be so far heard of the point Nintendo knows of that if they say somthing isn’t okay and want it changed they have to scrap a lot of work that came after that point
I said “they seem to not want anything too different”, meaning they do make some change but nothing to radical that the story is really change.
Yes, but they could be in charge of licensing the comic, and cancel the comic’s license, therefore ending it abruptly.
That’s arguable, ‘cause Nintendo was supposedly somewhat involved in “Sonic Lost World” with Sega, but that game didn’t seem to be a huge hit. (Though, I did like how it brought back the old badniks, and in some ways was like “Sonic meets Mario Galaxy.”)
@Prof.NightJack
That’s not entirely true. They still take some liberties with the mangas though. (Like Volvagia’s orgin, and Sheik for example.) So they still change some things to keep them interesting. (I liked how Maple had a bigger role in the “Oracle of Seasons” manga.) They seem to be rather reluctant to let American comic/animation companies handle their properties. They turned down offers from Archie Comics to do a comic mini-series based off of Mario, Metroid, and Kirby. (Tracey Yardley’s art from the pitch can be found online.)
Shame ‘cause Archie does a good job on the Megaman & Sonic comics.
I guess Nintendo of America is more picky about it then Japan. Either that, or Nintendo in Japan, doesn’t want American comic/animation companies handling their properties after the controversial SMB movie bombed in 1993.
However, they do let Texas/American company Retro Studios make some of their games like the Metroid, DKC, and Mario Kart 7 games.
They also allow K’Nex to make Mario toys, and Campbell’s soup to make Mario soup. But Archie can’t make a Mario comic. I love Nintendo, but I really don’t understand their merchandising sometimes.
