It’s intresting the reversal those two went, if the picutre is an indication of where both characters standed socially before Twilight left for Ponyville.

Don’t you know, Spike is unimportant compared to BG ponies in the fandom, so now it’s true on the show as well. It makes perfect sense.

In fairness, Twilight seemed to be the one that Moondancer was closer to, with similar tastes in entertainment and style. She might very well have felt that Twilight was her best friend, so, if Twilight, who was so similar to her, didn’t consider her worth her time, she might have assumed that the others, with their zany antics and more exuberant personalities, would eventually decide the same, so trying to keep them around wasn’t worth the effort, in her eyes. Not exactly a good assessment, on her part, but that was the first time she put herself out there, and her supposed best friend didn’t show up.
 
On that note, does this episode confirm that most ponies don’t know what the Mane Six did in the first two episodes. None of Twilight’s old friends seemed to know that Twilight had run off to save the world, after all… If so, then how did they explain Princess Luna’s return?

Moondancer’s obsession with Twi is kind of sad. You become a total shut-in because you’re loved by everyone but her and that means you have no value. This picture is her life in a nutshell: despite everyone else trying to have a great time with her she can only pine for Twilight - nothing else matters!
 
How much you wanna bet it’s no coincidence that she and Twilight had the same manecut?

I was expecting Spike to fix the teddy bear and finally give it to Moondancer. This was an episode about tying up loose ends, after all.
