I think he can shoot from his chest cavity in some games actually, but yeah the eyebeams are kinda cool. We’ll just assume Eggman upgraded him.

I always wondered if Metal could shoot lasers out of his red eyes or use sharp claws. Apparently, he doesn’t but I figured it would be cool to be like X-men’s Cyclops and Wolverine.

That would’ve ruled. Plus the music was cool in that level, and a retro remix for the “Classic Sonic” level would’ve been interesting. (I like how in the “retro remix” of “Escape from the City” they snuck in part of the “Endless Mine” music from Sonic 3.)
 
Seaside Hill was fun, but as you said it’s just basically another “Greenhill/Emerald-Coast”-style level, and “Generations” already had several levels like that.  
Sadly, the 3DS version didn’t even get a “Heroes” level. Come to think of it, neither version had a “Sonic 3” level either. (Though, technically “Sonic & Knuckles” is the second half of Sonic 3.)
 
I kinda hope for next year’s “Sonic 25th anniversary” they make “Sonic Generations 2,” but I doubt it.

I really, really wish that Egg Fleet had been the representative level of Heroes in Sonic Generations, or at least DLC. Can you imagine tearing through those airships with the Sonic Boost, IN HD?
 
But no, we got more Seaside Hill, which was more like Ocean Palace because Seaside Hill was Heroes’s obligatory Green Hill throwback and they already HAD the original Green Hill in Generations, so they may as well have just called it Ocean Palace in Generations.

Y’know, I liked the “Egg Fleet” level, even if it was a bit annoying. I also liked how all of Eggman’s airships were shaped/themed after marine life. (The main/biggest one being a whale shark ship. I like whale sharks & manta rays.)

Careful Spitfire. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until Sonic is dead.
