This is actually why I find Shithead to be the worse, outside of Star Trek: Voyager you would likely never seen him, but what he does there got so annoying to me.
I mean there is a reason I latched onto SF Debris’ name for him, it fits him to a T.

Dunno, man, I hated both when they were just online too. Both just come off as bad jokes being screamed at me in a shrill, irritating voice.

Even if the jokes were funny, the delivery always killed them for me. Like a chalkboard being scraped inside my head.

While the TV show wasn’t great the original internet shorts of Annoying Orange actually weren’t bad, and I actually used to enjoy them.

Stuff on the internet usually doesn’t translate to TV well. Just look at “Fred.” (Though, can’t say I cared for him. I prefered MakeMeBad35 for good ol’ stupid internet humor.)

Something being all over the place doesn’t change the overall annoyingness unless you allow it to. I can ignore things. I ignore Minions. I didn’t see the movie because I knew right out of the gate it would irritate me. I don’t go to McDonald’s, so I don’t need to see the Happy Meal toys. It’s the same at stores too. Yeah, I see the Minions merchandise, but does it screw with me? Well, I don’t buy any of it, for myself or for my younger cousins (I try to limit my gifts to them to things that I think are fun for both children and adults, that way they can enjoy them for longer).

Long story short, I don’t care how “everywhere” something is when it comes to how annoying it is. I care about how much it annoys me. The Annoying Orange, in the space of 5 short minutes, is more aggravating than watching the Minions screw around like idiots for an eternity.

Plain and simple.

Let’s say, no matter how impossible this scenario is, that instead of Minions, The Annoying Orange was that popular and everywhere. That The Annoying Orange was a pop culture giant that you couldn’t escape. Which world would you rather live in, if forced to decide at gunpoint? The Minions world, or The Annoying Orange world?

I’d pick Minions every time. Easily.

The Minions are everywhere, though, and you can’t make them go away. You just have to wait them out until their fad is over. Annoying Orange was restricted only to television during a specific time and we don’t see him anymore. The Minion crave is still here.

Hmmm… an odd setup here.

I don’t find Pinkie annoying at all.

Neelix was tolerable to me.

The Minions, while annoying, mostly just function for gag slapstick. Generic, but ignorable.

The Annoying Orange… well, it’s there in the title. Really, really annoying.

I don’t mind any of these things honestly. (In fact, I don’t know who that weird second “Hardly tolerable” guy is.)

Only thing I dislike about the “Minions” is they always felt like a slight rip-off of the “Raving Rabbids” to me. (Who seem to no longer be popular anymore. They even used to do car commercials in Europe.)

The minions are above Annoying Orange? What’s above Minions? Chris-Chan?

Not just. Some time before it got to TV I didn’t find that Titanic one funny and considered it to be in bad taste. (It was in a series of clips, I think “Orange goes time traveling” is close to the title.)

To be fair, back when he was just an internet short, Annoying Orange had popularlity on Youtube. (I even enjoyed the old Youtube videos) He just didn’t translate to TV very well, and people got sick of him due to that.

I’m curious how a HTF movie could work, sense they usually can kill off the characters in only a few minutes. I can’t really see how they could do a HTF movie, unless it’s a collection of shorts, or a clip-show. (Like the obscure “Heathcliff” movie.)

Funny thing is that Mondo Media want to make an Happy Tree Friends movie (as well as a Deep Space 69 one and a Dick Figures sequel)

What’s that, still using people with ADHD as a mean to say why the fight sequences are bad?
Shut the fuck up, if someone with ADHD loses interest in the movie a fight sequence, pointless or not, will NOT chage it to make them interested in it again.
Also you missed the damn point, it means FUCK ALL if it was JJ’s direction, he was jot the only one behind it, you are a moron to say he is the only one to blame.
If the movie’s credits said he was the ONLY one of the staff then you would have a point to dismisssing a film for him being behind it, but that is not how making a movie works, there are more people behind it.
You can point out flaws of the movies already made with him working on it but to say a movie that is not out yet has the same problem like you saw it already shows you have your head up your ass and think just having him work on it mean it’s just the same.
You no fuck all of what the new Start Wars movies will be like so you are just talking with your head up your ass to say it will be a set way without seeing it.

Whats that? You actually can back up your opinions with logic? Why didn’t you do that in your first reply then?

Scott Chambliss may have designed the Ipod future look of the ship and others may also have done it, but he made it under JJ’s direction and it was made to fit JJ’s ideas about how the movie should look. And since JJ repeated the look in the second Trek movie he made, with Chambliss doing the production design again, it seems it wasn’t a fluke either. Either that was the look JJ wanted Chambliss to make or he consistently failed to communicate to Chambliss how he wanted the movie to look. My money is on the former.
But its just one flaw (and one of the lesser ones at that) amongst many in the Trek movies.
More pressing to the subject of OP’s pic is how he turns kirk into an incredibly smug and obnoxious douchebag in the movies. Firs thing we see him do, the critical point where we’re introduced to the character in the movie, is a sequence of Kirk randomly driving his stepdads car off a cliff for no reason other than apparently to show that he’s a rebel. Or something.
He also keeps doing that kind of idiotic crap all through the movie.
Or the many coincidences required to move the plot along? In the movie JJ also wrote.
Like kirk randomly hanging out in the one bar pike hangs out in, so the two can meet and Kirk get convinced to sign up with starfleet.
What about when Kirk is shot off in an escape pod (instead of being locked up in the brig which would make more sense) and randomly happens to not only be near a planet with breathable atmosphere, but also lands within easy walking distance of not only the only guy in the galaxy who can make a teleporter that can get him back on the ship (through shields, during warp, over interstellar distances) AND the original Spock, who just happens to be sitting around in a cave nearby as well. And if all of that coincidink wasn’t bad enough, the planet is also some how so close to Vulcan they can see it get destroyed as if they where in a lunar orbit around Vulcan. What a very cinematicly convenient (yet physically impossible) coincidence.
Why does all this happen? Because Kirk needed to meet spock and scotty and DESTINY!
And I haven’t even gotten around to commenting on the pointless monster fight sequence that does nothing but pad out run time and keep the ADHD crowd from getting too distracted. You could litterally cut the entire fight from the movie and nothing else in the entire movie would need to be changed to explain what happened.
And this is just one part of the movie. The whole thing is like that. And the sequel was nearly as bad.
JJ may have done better when he was making lost (I never did care for that show) though I hear a lot of fans weren’t fond of its ending either.
Sorry about the rant there.

TL:DR His characters are shit and his plots are even worse.

Also that little comment “so the ADHD’s in the audience don’t loose interest and walk off.”
Ya, as someone with ADD and friends with ADHD, that is an insult to use it as a means to criticize a detector.
That actually invalidates a point, it make it harder to keep attention on somthing, the “the manymany pointless action sequences” well not do shit to help.

“several examples of bad directorial decisions in JJ’s past movies”
You generalized it all, that is not an example of anything, and some of that is aesthetic choices that really tell nothing of bad directorial decision.
I take it the “ipod tech everywhere” has to do with his Star Trek movies, will that is shit as if you think of it he isn’t the only one to do that with future tech, so you are pinning somthing done in other place just on him.
Sure it looks overly bland and the overly clean look is kind of stupid, but to pin it all on him is also stupid as it was Scott Chambliss that was the production designers, not Abrams.
