Applejack is more of the straight mare/tsundere type, though she grows more and more out of the tsundere as the relationship develops. She would honestly fit the ‘straight mare’ visage than Twilight, who is known to be off-kilter at times.

“I prefer the day, honestly. My plants, for the most part, grow better in the sun.”

Oh yeah, she’s a druid, more specifically focused on plants. So her magic is druidic, not chaotic.

That’s true. Both of them are very catlike in appearance and mannerisms. I kind of deviated from that with my own Applecord kid, making her more bat like with some otter tendancies too. Yes, I know it’s ironic given AJ’s history with bats.

They seem like a cross between noodley ferrets and big cats. The Watsonian explanation is that being part draconequus, more of their mammalian features would be on display when combined with the pony parts, which include the lion traits and extended body. The Doylist explanation is that it’s ferrets and cats are fun and expressive to draw and there’s a lot of reference material available.
