Assuming she lives in the Northen Hemisphere, the brightest star is Sirius in spring and winter, Arcturus in summer, and Vega in fall. The full moon rises at sunset, so she’d travel east in the winter and west at every other time, except maybe near the middle of winter where the full moon is likely to outshine Sirius and so she’d follow Vega northwest.

I just felt like figuring that out.
