I don’t mind Rule 63, in fact it’s one of my favorite rules! But I just don’t get where people get the idea to pair the girl/boy versions together. Oh, sure they’re “perfect” matches but the romance is a little more than stale.
 
I read that one story where they all fell in love in the other universe and personally I thought it was boring as heck. One look in the person’s eyes and you’re eternally in love? Meh!
 
But I do like stories like “The Unexpected Love Life of Dusk Shine”. Now that’s how you play a Rule 63! (Although the anime style harem goes a bit far sometimes.)
 
Overall, rule 63 is good for me as long as you aren’t doing some kinda weird self-cest. Only self-cest I like is cloning blues, twins, and anything else that isn’t literally “I fell in love with myself.”
