If they really were on the verge. They were pretty damn subtle about it

Considering There were no foals in the flashbacks in Autumn’s song when the Kirins were still able to talk. It makes us wonder if they could even reproduce at all even. Or do they have other means to carrying on?

I hate how scant in details we’re given on Kirin society. Their culture is nothing Eastern either. Resembling more of a jungle chiefdom that enjoys an amalgation of various cultural plays.

Maybe it’s just laziness to draw foals on the graphics department part.

It’s also awkward how they only silenced themselves during the same generation as the one we saw in the episode. Implying it wasn’t too long ago that Kirins began getting offended and started silencing themselves as a result. Autumn remembers clearly what life was before being silenced. Those Kirins in the flashbacks were the same Kirins in the present time during the episode.

Are they a young race? Are they immortal? Long span and low reproduction rates? It’s confusing.

It’s almost like their species was on the verge of dying out.
Because they probably were. I’m still surprised so few people noticed that, unlike pretty much every other society we’ve visited on the show, there were no kirin children in their village. Seriously, go back and look at the episode. Every kirin we see aside from the leader is the size of a full grown pony. It really stands out when you consider we’ve seen hippogriff children, yak children, buffalo children, baby to young adult dragons, baby changelings, young griffons, and so on. The kirin are the only ones that have no young, apparently.
