One day, when Starlight was walking down a park, she found a strange purple creature trapped in a net. It resembled a purple alicorn, shrieking as it flapped its wings. After a while, the purple unicorn finally managed to help the poor creature free itself from the net’s strings, but as it flew away, it instead sank into the pond, where its broken wings struggled to avoid drowning.
 
Starlight dived into the pond and rescued the exhausted creature, whom she swaddled into a towel which she normally uses to wipe away her sweat. She returned home and spent the following weeks nursing the little bird-pone back to health. However, as her wings were broken by that net some time ago, the sad bird-pone could not fly anymore, and only had to rely on its cat-like speed in order to navigate anywhere.
 
Several months later, her boyfriend Sunburst wanted to take a photograph of her and her pet. She caused the bird-pone to wear some socks, which it sometimes munched and chewed at. And when Starlight and her bird-pone were ready, she cuddled her shy pet, who started flapping its wings and shook its head as it struggled to be free from her forelegs.
 
“Now,” Sunburst instructed, “say ‘cheese!’”
 
But as the orange unicorn took his photograph, its light blinded Starlight, who tumbled aside from her seat. As the bird-horse did not look at the camera, it was able to jump out of its keeper’s grasp. It tried and tried to fly by jumping and flapping its wings, but after a ridiculous chase it managed to fly away, out of the kitchen window.
 
“At least,” Starlight grumbled, “it is now free to live its life again.”
