Supposed to, yeah, but it’s not actually automatically added - a mod has to add it, and there’s just a field for what the public text says. Usually that’s where we add the thread name, but it is an optional field.

So I had a couple of ideas, if it’s okay I mean…
Red and Black Gold: Given to owners of an OC that has been drawn by at least 10 (or whatever number works) different artists.
Basically being a play off of the “black and red” stereotype of OCs and “black gold”. The way I see it, someone who’s OC has been drawn by that many artists contributed to the fanbase by either making quite a popular character or by commissioning / requesting from a good number of artists (or some combination thereof). Either way I think it’s worth recognition.
TJPones for Brownie Bun / Horse Wife and Fluffle Puff for, well, Fluffle Puff, and Slavedemorto for Backy would be three recipients (if the counter was set at 10, mind you)
Element of Loyalty: Given to artists with verified links who have uploaded a set number of their own works to the site themselves.
Basically it’s an incentive to verified artists to bring their own stuff here, thus making them members of our happy little community ;D
Let’s say we set it at 250. Smudge_Proof, JargonScott, Lulubell would be three recipients at that number.

Yeah, that number would have to be way higher than ten. If an artist makes a half decent porn-oriented oc (or even a completely terrible one) they often get a bunch of fanart for it. Give someone some quality fap material and they’ll never stop thanking you for it.
Other than that small detail, I honestly think this is a nice concept. Maybe there should be a divider between oc’s that are created as generally sfw characters and oc’s that are created as nsfw work ones, like the Fine Arts and PPPP badges. That might work, if you can make a proper definition for it.

I wouldn’t think it would be fair to give such a badge to someone who has like 15-20 drawn images, and then 230 pony creator images that they simply tagged themselves as artist of. The only issue is where the line would be drawn, so that no-effort-required images wouldn’t count, but images that may take actual effort and time but not be 100% original content would, if that makes sense.

Personally, I think it would be bad. There’s a lot of high quality pictures, particularly ones that were colored, that technically count as edits, as well as a handful of colorist artists who easily put in as much work as the artists of the original works.

There are WAY too many people with duck badges, it robs it from any seriousness.
We all have a tendency to lash out sometimes…Only completely uninteresting PC zombies don’t.
I’d think that badge should be reserved for the most extreme of cases.

There’s a total of 61 members (out of 157,922) with Duck Badges (I counted), and not all of them are even active anymore. Plus out of those 61 ducks, a few of them are alt accounts.
And trust me, duck badges are normally well-deserved. Other than that one guy who got one because he literally asked for it, just about everyone with a duck badge has multiple bans on record, usually for insults, starting drama, etc.

Last I checked half the duck badgers were moon banned.
The entire point of them is to be discriminatory; point out to people that they’re dealing with a troll or an outstanding idiot, let them know not to engage or take them seriously.
