Now this is something I can get behind.

Cheerilee is going through a midlife crisis, which is reflected upon in EQG when she’s annoyed with the CMC.
 
In the EQG universe, all students at one point or another learn about how the EQG equivalent of zebras were once used as slaves.

Not crazy. per se, but definitely headcanon.
 
Any unicorn can learn to teleport, but Pinkie is the only earth pony able to teleport. Even then, it’s not teleporting in the unicorn sense. Teleporting, in the unicorn sense, is “tearing open” a door to somewhere else with magical energy, which is why there’s a bang and a flash and the unicorn in question doesn’t immediately appear.
 
Teleporting, in the Pinkie sense (heh heh), is literally folding space itself to where she needs it to go.
 
Imagine this: An ant is crawling on a sheet of paper. Pretend that this 2-dimensional sheet of paper is the 3-dimensional Equestria. It takes X number of seconds to go from one side to the other. A teleporting unicorn simply “jumps” from one side of the paper to the other. Pinkie folds the paper so she can simply walk from one side to the other.
 
Now, while every unicorn can theoretically learn to teleport, it’s considered one of the most difficult and dangerous spells to learn. “Jumping” off the paper in itself is risky, since you might over”jump”, falling off the paper entirely to who-knows-where. Even if you land on the paper, it might not be where you want to be.

Celestia is the official guardian of Spike, making him her only true heir, but she keeps this a secret to avoid having to marry him off and to avoid controversy in general. She was planning on having Twilight be her successor all along and was hoping that, by putting Twilight and Spike in the same house, they would grow to love each other and eventually get married, ending the secrecy once and for all. Obviously they do love each other, but not in the way that Celestia intended. The princess blames Rarity.  
This is why she did not get an episode in season 3.

Raised from birth? Might have been around each other since he was hatched, but no way was Twilight raising Spike.

When ponies still lived in the north, the land was inhabited by buffalo and dragons, who peacefully coexisted. When the ponies came, they violently took over the land. They exiled the buffalo and built settlements on their holy stampeding grounds. They slew dragons, took their hoards and smashed their eggs. There were barely any buffalo left and after the Great Dragon Exodus, dragons were permanently banished from their nesting grounds. The ponies called the land Equestria, the pony domain, as if trying to further insult the buffalo and dragons.  
Every year when the hearth’s warming eve pageant is held, critics complain about the historical inaccuracy of it. Some are even offended by the holiday, because they claim it celebrates the eradication of thousands of buffalo and dragons. Some… because this brutal history is not touched on in school.

I’ll be honest, I can’t see the ponies winning against a unified nation of dragons. Especially not thousands of years ago, before the Royal Sisters were around.

Who said they were unified? :) They coexisted, as in, not going at each other’s throats all the time.

Honestly, I can’t see the Hearth’s Warming Pageant as a story element as anything but a way that modern Equestrians paint themselves to be glorious conquerors of a harsh land.
 
But yeah, even a war set in modern Equestria with four alicorns and the Elements of Harmony active would be incredibly harmful to both sides.

The equivalent of unicorns for zebras are okapis.
 
They are extremely rare to the point where most thing that their race is merely a myth.

I see this as plausible, because something that I’ve always believed is that unicorns were better and more combat oriented spell casters in the harsher days of Equestria, simply because they had to be in order to survive. Not even Twilight could win a fight against an ancient unicorn, because the older unicorns didn’t have time for the magic of friendship, instead studying the magic of fireball, orb of annihilation and chain lighting. And unlike in D&D, “Equestrian” dragons don’t have epic level spellcasting, so it’s not inconceivable that an army of unicorn mages/jedi could overcome the more physically oriented dragons and buffalo.
 
And yeah, the Hearth’s Warming play just screams “whitewashed.”
