The way he treats Trixie even after he met Blueballs (WHO STILL DIDN’T CARE ABOUT HIM)..fuck man. Angry. Just makes me angry. Not to mention the whole thing with Blueballs, Fleur and Fancy Pants.

Don’t get me started about her Blueblood. She’s a prime example of someone who treats characters base on their sex. And before you accuse me of being cynical, remind me how Blue and Fleur are treated after the affair. If memory serves me right, we’re suppose to feel sorry for Fleur because she cheat on Fancy with Blueblood. I’m sorry, but no. Unless it’s rape or blackmail, it takes two to cheat. Honestly, stuff like this is one of the reasons I’ not a fan of Trixie, who did much worst than Blue (revenge is rarely a good reason to enslave a town and use an amulet that either corrupted you or made you high on power). Why does he get all the hate while Trixie get woobiefied more than Luna? Yes, her first ep was poorly made, but that doesn’t excuse how the fandom worships her dropping and acts like Blue eats babies at nursery.

Trixie truly was the victim in her first episode, seriously, everyone BUT her was acting like an idiot and she suffered for it. I’ll give you that she went overboard with her revenge, but she’s had a few episodes to improve even if she had to act as a satellite character. Blueblood was a jerk (yes, I know Rarity was basically being a gold digger in that episode, but we KNOW Rarity, and again, she’s had more episodes to show her good side and developement), never apologized…and that’s all we were left with. Ignoring the comics, because I’m sure the majority of the fandom doesn’t actually pay attention to the comics. That’s why he’s more likely to get terrible characterization. Sure, fandom writers COULD make him not an ass…but more often than not that’s not the case.

And you really can’t blame gender here. Characters like Spike, Big Mac, Thorax, and Sunburst are examples of male characters the fandom actually gives a damn about and writes them in godd situations..if we’re not counting porn. And it’s not like females are above being treated horribly either by the fandom. Seriously, stop using that gender excuse crap.

It’s really just Lop’s writing. I like her art but a lot of character males or female suffer in some way. Pandora with her sob stories, Aerostorm seems to be treated with favortism and she pairs him up with quite a few characters, he seems like a slut at times. Bruce is okay..he’s a jerk with a heart of gold that had a terrible upbringing, Cupcake is too much like Maud, Moondancer we’ve been over, and some characters just kinda get pushed to the side like Magnolia, Iredescence, Artemis…she has so many either poorly used or underused characters.

Blue was a dick at worst. And I’m referring to before Starlight, which was when Lop started with Trixie banging Blue so she wouldn’t have to make Moondancer a magical lesbian spawn. I’m referring to how Trixie was the fandom’s cinnamon roll that Woona would be jealous of, and most works with her (before Starlight) usually involved her having a terrible life and getting heavily rewarded by the end, even a few where she replaces Twilight or fucks her. Blue hasn’t done anything worst than being a snob, and is treated like a monster. Even Spoiled Rich, a character than has done more harm than Blue is treated better in the fandom than Blue.

Well, I guess people just don’t like Blueblood. But either way Lop’s writing can be terrible. Any yet, she’s more creative than I could ever be.

I miss Kilala. I’ll never forget when I got her into this thread.

I love blueblood. I see a lot of potential in him being a total stuck up prick until someone finally teaches him a lesson. Then he’s a slightly less stuck up jerk who tries his best but is constantly out of his element. It’s a shame every female character gets redemption but not poor old blueblue.

For some reason he’s the bad guy even though Fleur willingly cheated with him. At most I’ll say its 50/40 fault on Fluer’s side. Its not Blue’s job to keep up Fleur’s honor as a married mare. But Fleur is the whore who cheated.
 
In a situation like that I wouldn’t blame Blue for telling the kid he’s the father just to spite them for rubbing their happy marriage in his face. It’s kind of a shitty thing to keep a person’s kid from them just to maintain the happy lie that you didn’t have an affair and then being like angrily happy with your marriage.

Blueblood is a living stereotype, so it was easy for people to insert him as the other stereotype of “evil man who ruins a good woman we can feel sorry for.” It got old before season 2 was done and it’s just ridiculous to keep seeing it play out now, especially with many other actually villainous male characters we can choose from.
 
I agree on Trixie. The show should never have brought her back. She was like Blueblood: at her best when we knew little about her, and all we knew about her is that she was one of the most ridiculous ponies ever.

Heh in the one episode Blueblood had a speaking part in he was immature and childish. Just like when the mane six (sans Twilight) heckled Trixie for no reason.
