They know it’s part of the job, for sure (except the new ones, but hey! Gotta start
somewhere), like Lauren said (paraphrasing), “I know it’s there, I’m
okay with it existing, but please don’t show it to me”, so basically live and let live. They have nothing to gain from publicly speaking out against
any elements of the fandom save for the ones that dox, intimidate and harass with the purpose to cause harm. That’s why the professional thing to do is to just let it be and don’t speak about it,
especially if the subject matter’s rating is higher than the one of the IP you’re representing.
Of course, Twitter and the rise of the “Everything’s about me” concept makes broadcasting how you feel so much easier now, which has added to the risk of someone fucking up somewhere. We all have bad days, even VAs and writers that feel like they’ve just
got to talk against something. Then they wake up and realize that they fucked up.
