Wouldn’t this imply that the writers are only listening to fans that prefer lore then? Where do you get that from besides ‘Oh an episode that focuses on lore must be pandering’ ? How?

Okay since you’re dragging this on, let me state on my original post that I’m agreeing with Marx that the fans who hate people for enjoying the show’s lore are dicks. I don’t care if you’re not into the lore or anything, but looking down on others who do is a shitty thing to do. I’m not saying that you’re guilty of this, but at the same time you can’t really say or dictate what kids like or what kids are into since they, like adults are different and prefer different things.

I don’t look down on people for liking lore. I just don’t want people ignoring the messages and characters for and focusing videos on a tiny piece of lore.

I know. I was talking about the season 8 thing. In retrospective, my main problems with it wasn’t with the lore. That was a problem I had with the latter half of season 7.

Honestly, I think you get worked up and paranoid over nothing. No one is deliberating ignoring everything else but the lore, there are some who do enjoy the show for the lore, nothing wrong with that. Saying that the show now focuses too much on lore is a valid criticism, but saying that that isn’t want kids want is a pretty far fetched and ridiculous claim. Now nitpicking the lore and devoting too much time on it is a different story.

That’s a weird one, since some of the morals are pretty obvious ( Though I don’t get the ‘Not asking for help’ one to this day)  
I just think people are having fun.
 
I’ll use an example like a youtuber I watched was more interested in talking about Thorax(Changelings as whole) than the theme of the episode when he debuted and people have got on his case as not having the ‘right’ priorities on what to talk about.

I actually agree. As much as I like lore for the sake of lore, it’s at it’s best when it’s in service to the story and characters.
 
That’s why The Hearth’s Warming Club was one of my favourite episodes of Season 8.

I admit that (like a few people) Lily Peet’s personality makes it hard to take her options seriously, even when they’re valid points.

I agree with some of her points, definitely not always how she reaches them or what she compares it to.
