@Megas75
To me, Season 3 isn’t really all that memorable outside of Alicorn Twilight and, Keep Calm And Flutter on. Maybe because it was 13 episodes that made it my least favorite IDK. It felt pretty forgettable.
@Megas75
Season 3 isn’t my favorite season, but it isn’t that bad at all. It’s just not as strong because it was short, but for what it’s worth, it was fine. Magic Duel, Sleepless in Ponyville, and even Just for Sidekicks are really enjoyable. And the premiere is much better than Season 6’s premiere.
Scratch that, it’s not because i thought Season 3 was entirely forgettable. It had it’s moments. It’s the aftermath of the season. And it really put a damper on my enjoyment of MLP for a while.
@LeoNero
I normally don’t let a fandom affect my enjoyment on anything, but that was a really miserable period, which fans at each others throats and just being giant cocks to each other with the Alicorn and EQG dramas, among other things. It really made the hiatus feel longer than it was too
@Megas75
I did take a break from MLP for several months after that. And missed some of Season 4 because i thought “Is this bullshit fandom drama going to seep into Season 4?”
And as far as Starlight Glimmer goes, her drama isn’t as intense as the absolute duckery we saw in S3
The earlier hafl of the series just isnt all that impressive really.
It took advantage of the fact that it was “the new thing”.
The later seasons, all 5 6 and 7, are where the show really picks up for me as the series start really taking advantage of the tools laid down from the earlier seasons that weren’t actually being used. Side characters and background ponies most in particular.
I also get a sadistic sense of glee watching people continuously bitch about status quo changes and watching their headcanons crumble simply because the show doesn’t go how they want it to. At least for awhile.
@kztxl7
The designs of ponies has really improved over the years, and it’s sad to me how few BG ponies are given attention when a majority of even one off gag characters look 10x more exciting than even the most basic S1/S2 designs. Time Turner being an ‘omg other series reference’ is like a joke in comparison to all the actually referential pony designs in later seasons.
I don’t really get why Season 4 is as beloved as it is.
It had it’s moments definitely, but I mainly remember it for having a not very good depiction of Twilight, Bats being a wasted opportunity for a plot, several of the key episodes being underwhelming for a lot of people, and Fluttershy being sold into slavery.
I’m just sad that a character I like causes so much controversy. There’s honestly not a single character in the show I dislike at this point. I used to dislike Pinkie, but that changed.
@gingerninja666
I get criticisms of a character somebody doesn’t like, but i can’t stand downright hateboners for a character. I don’t really hate anyone in FIM.
“But Leo don’t you hate Marble Pie?” No, i don’t hate Marble pie?” But she’s defiantly my least favorite.
@LeoNero
Criticism is one thing, and no one should be forced to like every character, but being a dick about a character you don’t like, knowing full well that it will make others feel bad for liking said character is another.
