Description
After a night of drunken fun, Trixie and Blue Blood never met again after that night. But later on Trixie found out she became pregnant and knowing who the father was, she became nervous and scared. 10 months later, she got the courage to confront him, only to see the disgust on his face, know that this common mare is carrying his foal. Turning away, he left her for good. 2 Months later, Trixie gave birth to a beautiful filly, later named Purity. But Purity was born nearly identical to her father, which brought the attentions to all the ponies. Reluctantly, Blue Blood let his daughter into his life and raised her to be the “perfect Princess”. (I’m bad at writing stories ><) Their Only Daughter:
I would agree, if you are going to write a story about two characters, think outside the box, not some overly generic “this is how its been played a hundred million times”
the point of creative writing, is to take creative characters and see what you can do with them that is within the area that they were designed in. But like this? Its so generic it’s obnoxious
No, I just find the typecasting annoying. Including making Trixie into a weepy damsel.

You misunderstood my point. I wasn’t meaning in general, I meant in this particular scenario: Hooked up with Blueblood, who isn’t the aggressor for a change. Have you ever seen a fic where Trixie abused Blueblood and it wasn’t played for laughs, for example?
I suppose as a joke that fact would get old real quick, but it should be a horse fact as widespread as horse term lengths by now.

You must somehow not be in the same fandom I’m in, where if she’s not painted up as a gold-digger or, vile “nouveau riche”, she usually justs ends up abandoned, impoverished, discarded as “pleb trash”, raising a child on her own; and that’s in the instances where it’s just a “one night thing” and not something more sinister.
No, in my experience “when Trixie does wrong” usually results in her being punished by having a shit life, or be seen by all as a shitty person.
Then again I rarely care about fics and stories anymore given after a few sentences it’s clear most writers are hacks that use TVTropes as reference material or are somehow oblivious to how so many have created the same thing so many times before.
Let me clarify: I haven’t seen any stories where those things are explored in light of how they affect their relationship.
Yes, she’s often depicted raising rotten kids. But that’s with Blueblood’s help. When she’s portrayed as sleeping around or being mostly interested in his money, is there ever a story or picture where things are told from Blueblood’s perspective and how it could affect him negatively?
I don’t remember any. I do remember pics and stories like the one above, and I remember pics where the tone was “Haha, look, she just wants his money, ain’t it funny? Sucker couldn’t get a girl otherwise anyway, haha!”
When Blueblood does wrong, it’s tragedy. When Trixie does wrong, it’s comedy (or not made a point about at all).
Really, you mean you haven’t seen all the ones that imply she’s “loose”? All the ones that have her be a bitch mother that raises either a bitch child or one that hates her? All the ones where she’s a blatant gold-digger?
Either way, it feels like the amount of of art/fics of this “ship” where things are far from good overshadow the normal, happy stuff by quite a bit, and it’s stupidly popular despite the two of them never even being in the same town together, let alone episode. These two are in the “they’re not evil but making them miserable is guiltless!” character pool.
This is true. There’s happy ones, there’s sad ones.
But what I’ve yet to see is one where Trixie is the one to do wrong. It’s always Blueblood who sleeps around, rejects her, reject their child, tries to use her for political or petty reasons, abuses her… It’s like she turns into this sad, vulnerable puppy than can do no wrong around him.
It’s pretty amazing how long it lasts.
There are happy fics/arts like that and comedic ones. But of course there are the “tragedy tag” ones, too. It is a somewhat played out scenario, I think, but if people like it then people like it. The only problem is a lack of variety for those who aren’t so interested in abandonment pics (more than fics).
Blueblood being a jerk, or Trixie being pushed away?
It is hatred or laziness to blame at this point?
I know, right? it’s like people are incapable of giving Blueblood any kind of positive characteristic and so must abandon whoever he’s paired with. It got old a real long time ago.
