Well, this one was certainly quite an effort. Fifteen different carvings on eight different pumpkins (I used both the front and back sides of the pumpkins to minimize the number of pumpkins I would have to purchase and clean out). Each of the eight pumpkins took about 7 hours to complete, and when I factor in the time I spent preparing the patterns, photographing them (I took over 1000 photos before narrowing it down!), and editing the images together, I’m confident that I have at least 75 hours invested in this project.

The scene is based on the magical dancing ponies conjured up by the Spirit of Hearth’s Warming Yet to Come, portrayed by Princess Luna in the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic episode A Hearth’s Warming Tail, during her song in the episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYqcy4tr0Mo
He could’ve used ten exact copies of a low-heat light source light a flameless candle or a miniature flashlight. Additionally, each pumpkin appears to have varying levels of thickness in their shells, but it looks okay, though. :3
Well yes, if you want to cheat.
I can also see it done with Photoshop tbh
I can imagine this was only possible by projecting each frame onto the pumpkins from a fixed point, tracing that projection and then cutting it out.
I imagine that each pumpkin could have 2 (or possibly 3 if the picture spans less than 1/6th of the circumference ) frames carved into it, given that the curvature of the pumpkin would obscure the others.
You also gotta keep the light source consistently lit to make sure the skin has even thickness throughout each image AND FRAME to ensure it all remains the same brightness, the inside of the pumpkin is probably cut down to be smooth, to make that part a bit easier. possibly measuring thickness with a tool.
Seriously though, aint nobody got time fo dis.

I think the effort was worth it
Well, I was going to carve a pumpkin.
