I suppose “stop liking what I don’t like in the comments” is a bit overkill?
Apparently, “normal” as far as this place is concerned.
Ok … so what do we call it now?
The “drama in the comments” tag was officially retired and purged a few months ago.
Just because some enjoy silly dark-comedy humor, or alternative versions of characters, doesn’t mean we don’t.
Plus, some of “the way she is” is entirely up to fanon too, as sadly poor Celestia barely gets any focus in the show. Even Luna has more airtime then her now, and is more fleshed-out. (Or at least recently.)
Though, given how controversial the comic story “Reflections” turned out, unfortunately it’s likely fans will dislike it if they try to flesh her out in a way they don’t like, so no matter how she’s portrayed whether canon, satire, or whatever some will be mad.
This and the vast majority of tyrant Celestia jokes are not intended to be remotely show-accurate. Please, for the good of everyone, get over it.
I’m sure there are some that still do, but most, including Double here, don’t, and can make fun of it.
Humor is subjective, the sun rises in the east, etc. I also highly doubt that people who make the “tyrant Celestia” jokes are even remotely serious about it. I take it as tongue-firmly-in-cheek!

THANK YOU! Why can’t the fandom learn to appreciate the way Celestia really is?!
That’s like saying that people who buy more oranges probably buy more potato chips.
Exactly, and the more likely artists would prefer to use OoC/memetastic traits for the characters instead.
I think you have it the other way around; he’s saying that the better you are, the less you like the changes.
so basically, you believe that the better one gets at art, the more closely they agree with your opinions on the show
I don’t think that’s how it works. There are plenty of great artist still in the fandom, and a good chunk that left probably don’t have too much art experience. We also need to remember that art and story aren’t the same, so it would be more of literature-focused that has the most problems with the show’s writing.
From my experience, this is what I believe. I also believe that the more experienced of an artist you are, the more likely you are to have little tolerance of the show’s changes and leave the fandom.
>implying being good at art necessitates a certain set of interests
That I should expect better from artists who are better at drawing than I am?
@TrixieTheGreat
I subjected myself to it so I could be an actual fan by watching someone’s fan animations like everyone else in the community. I wrote what I said as a statement to why most of these turn me off.
Yes, that red unicorn is me. Or rather my ponysona, Nintendy.
But then how else am I supposed to engage with the other big things that the rest of the community talks about? I don’t like feeling isolated.
Maybe it’s karma for giving your babysitter, and Mum a hard time when you were wittle. ;)
Oh, the horror. THE HORROR! That you were subjected to a comic that offended you so much you had to cast aspersions upon anyone who might enjoy it and the entire community of individuals who they might be associated with! You poor, poor little … uhm … red unicorn with a cute little blue t-shirt based on your avatar, it seems.
Here, Trixie has some balm for your hurt feelings. Actually it’s a suppository. Take two and if you don’t feel less salty by morning then please just have the self control to not pee on things that others enjoy or, alternatively, check out the rules - they’re pretty awesome.
Especially that whole “filter shit you don’t like” thing. That rocks. Still.

@Beau Skunky
Weanlings, colts, and fillies are, in fact, the devil.
Ever, ever, let them attend one of your performances without their parents, or you will suffer immeasurable pain and agony.
With their parents, the suffering is still real and just as bad, but the parents usually feel so bad about it afterwards that they tip well.
And suffering with tips is better than suffering without tips.

I admit, I’m a li’l tired of the “Tyrant Celestia” gags too, but even I thought this was funny. It’s basically a “DoubleWBrothers” fan-comic, but as an animated short instead.
@kircher
So anyone else still want a cute li’l pony pet? :P
Oh learn to laugh once in a while. Plus it’s doublewbrothers. What did you expect?
