Yeah, and I’m sure that they will give her some love in the movie with holding off Storm King with Luna, Cadance, and Shining Armor while Twilight and the Mane Six are on their journey to find new friends and allies to help stop Storm King and protect Equestria.
You’re probably right, it just rubbed me as something similar to making Celestia hot pink. I always appreciated her design since she’s a non-neotenic mare that towers over her little ponies. She’s formidable but still feminine, that’s rare to see.
Probably because they are using that Harmony animation instead of the normal Flash animation used in the show.
I just wanna know why they reduced her muzzle. She was fine the way she was.
Thanks for the understanding. Appreciate it. Now to see what happens to Celestia and the other Princesses in the movie as they deal with the Storm King while Twilight and the Mane Six are on their journey.
That would not be possible in the story they were telling. I agree it would have been better to have their capture explained, perhaps by chrysalis herself (it would be in character for her), and I do agree that it’s a major flaw in the episode, but I don’t think it’s all that vital to understanding the events of the story, and I can live without it, though I understand that not everyone can.

It’s okay, but I still make a valid point at how the writers keep putting the two strongest Alicorns in Equestria, alongside the likes of Cadance, Shining Armor, and the Mane Six, and having them end up being hostages of the villain so Equestria nearly capitulates before a last minute miracle saves the day and restores the status quo for the next season to pick up on. At least show the Royal Family some love and let them be able to be heroes again like in the Season 6 premiere, especially in the movie with holding off Storm King while the Mane Six are on their journey.
@thps48
With exposition, that would work, but if they don’t explain how the Princesses ended up in their little situation that they need to be rescued from, it really detracts from the episode proper in my eyes.
That can work good with exposition added in as well, but like I said, by giving them zero lines, it would have been the same if they had replaced some of the twelve with stick figures.
Sorry, I thought you were talking about the cmc in reply to cmc_scootaloo. My bad.

What about having to be rescued half the time just to show how desperate the situation is?
How can they be plot devices if they only serve a purpose when they’re the focus? That’s not a plot device.
@Twilatron217
I really hope so. I just don’t want her to be screwed over again by the writers and be nothing more than a plot device again like in the show in several episodes.
They will one day. The power is already in them:
Sooner or later, ““Trinity[](http://www.fimfiction.net/story/293692/trinity) will become a reality.
Right, though, they’ve yet to be part of a central premier/finale bollocks runaround. I mean, I want them to be, yeah. FiM is long overdue for both the kids save the day episode from Star Trek and Justice League, and the girls save the day episode from, eh, also Justice League, obviously in reverse since gender-wise FiM is set in Opposite Land. X3
“all twelve of the central recurring characters are powerful and capable of much as well”
They might not be powerful yet, but are already capable of much.
Oh, the whiny members of this fandom will definitely take care of those, not a doubt about that. We’ve already seen their reactions to certain movie characters.
I find hope in it, though, that the decent members of this fandom who recognize a good movie when it dangles in front of their noses, will drown their voices out.
Just trying to get people to realize certain facts about the movie that are already known so that they don’t go with false expectations into it and then out of it angry and with disappointed faces because they expected something that the synopsis already outright contradicted.
Ooh, it just dawned, either FiM, the movie, or another venue still have the option of having Cel and one or more other alicorns do a Gohan-Goten Brother Kamehameha Wave (I ain’t suggesting the Gohan-Goku Father Son Wave ‘cause that’d require Cel’s death), which’d properly demonstrate how friendship can do more than an attack by oneself, and then perhaps finally Cel can learn to stop being a pillock. XD
I don’t expect it to get goid revies at all
@Twilatron217
Don’t expect too much of that sort of thing from them. It is said the Mane Six travel across Equestria to get help against the Storm King, so, he is superior to them and they can’t defeat him themselves, at least not alone.
Reminding yourselves on that before you see the movie will spare you a lot of disappointment and spare the movie from getting two negative reviews it doesn’t deserve.

Hopefully she and Twilight tag team the Storm king into oblivion
Sounds good with showing the Princesses holding their own against Storm King until the Mane Six return from their journey.
A massive hold out at Canterlot with the princesses on a daily struggle to hold back Storm kings forces who he has ordered to try and take the citadel, the princesses trapped in Canterlot holding back the attack until the mane six can save them black hawk down style.
Sounds good, and it would still allow Celestia and the other Princesses some screen time and dialogue as they deal with Storm King while the Mane Six are on their journey.
Mm. I’d like to think even in captivity, it’d be compelling to create dialogue between Cel and Storm King and his allies, and if they wish to make the movie less compelling, they could decide not to. XD
