Description

Seson 1 and 2 CMC I could totally see this but these three have grown up to at the very least, Teen Years.(hense their cutiemarks) And yet throughout this episode they behave like season 1 and 2 CMC for most of the episode… This isn’t the Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo I know and it doesn’t upset me but it makes me annoyed that the writers didn’t pay attention to the growth these three have had in comparison to the mane six.

From their ideas to helping big mac hook up with surgarbell, to their behavior in general, it just made them look so much more childish than they are. I mean look at the previous episode JUST BEFORE THIS ONE for peats sake! Forever Filly! It points out that she’s growing up! What happened? Did she take an immaturity pill or something?

You both make good points but I just can’t see the current more mature cmc getting their hook-up ideas from a storybook. They can still act like kids at times of course because lord knows my niece still behaved like a kid a lot when she was 15 but I hope the writers have them take (at the very least) a slightly more mature approach to future situations of this nature.

I guess I’m being abit too much of a critic, huh?

Oh, you had me worried for nothing. I see the CMC as 14-15, maybe 13, but the childishness here wasn’t unlike them. The poster under me has it right. I wouldn’t call them kids and don’t think they’re 11-12 or were acting as such. I consider myself fairly sensitive to their development and maturity as I see it being totally missed, but this episode didn’t rub me the wrong way in how the crusaders were written.

I took it mostly as while they have matured a lot in some ways, in others they are still childish (as most all ponies are to some extent). In particular they have no experience dealing with romance beyond that whole failed love potion thing.

They did have the right, mature, idea in wanting Big Mac just to talk with her, it was only when the other pony got in the way that they decided they needed to do big, ridiculous things.

Umm, doesn’t anyone remember “Look Before You Sleep”? Where the whole plot of the episode hinges on the fact that grown mares in Equestria still have sleepovers?

Unlike (most) humans, ponies don’t seem to worry much about indulging their childish natures.

>”by god forbid someone want to remark about their growth and everyone assumes they imply they aren’t allowed to behave like kids still.”
Ya, and we are pointing out how they have grown but as they ARE still kids you can’t excpect them to not act like kids.
God forbid people can see how they can both mature and still act like the kids they are.

Well you come off like you are saying they didn’t grow at all, when they clearly did even in the very way they are acting you say is them not showing they have grown.
They are trying these things out WITH Mac, showing they have grown to realized it takes someone actully looking to start a relationship for it to happen.
But are still kids and have no relationship experience at all, all they really know IS the stuff in story books. so they get it wrong.
