You know I feel bad for Arif and DV. Not only the future of the functionality is uncertain, but people have been making edits of Arif’s art without permission and making DV into their personal mouthpieces for the whole ordeal. I mean it’s okay to be angry and vent your fustration out on it with art, but for Christ’s sake you don’t just use someone else’s art and character!
@ManDash17
i am starting to get worried about arif honeslty. he edited his icon to have poor downvote as r.i.p. with it grayed out. he is really upset about it.
@Arifproject
well downvote ain’t dead. she is even still being used in that icon list with the other charafcters you made, just that she is representign the hide icon.
So she isn’t dead…. and why did you grey out and put r.i.p. on your avatar? downvote is sitll alive….. and hopefully those dumb dumbs in derpibooru changes it back
Pessimism and always viewing things in the worst possible light is way too popular nowadays.
This. I’ve never understood why so many people always insist on focusing on the flaws in things, and looking at things negatively. Yes, it’s important to be able to recognize flaws in things, including things you like, but I don’t understand why people seem to prefer hating things than liking them.
@Arifproject
the good news is that she ain’t dead. t hey did not remove her from the icons, she just represents the hide function on the site now rather than downvoting.
so downvote has not been abandoned. just the icon that she represented before.
@Zahnrad
You’re giving me examples that, while this is admittedly subjective, most people I’ve seen have gotten used to, gotten over, or even liked those changes. And believe me, they’re all ones I was wary of when they came around, but I realized they’re for the better.
Not to mention that none of those are the death or even massive change of a character. They’re still the same pones.
@Zahnrad
“NOT ENOUGH PESSIMISM, EVERYONE GET SAD, NOW”
My point is that it’s up to interpretation. And you’re proving that people like you are going to (rather pointlessly) insist on interpreting it negatively. I think you’re more upset about the feature being lost and projecting that onto this situation, personally, but you’re welcome to explain why you think that this should be seen as killing her rather than anything else.
Rather than getting fired or dying, she could… change jobs. Retire. Etc.
@Silverwisp19
I understand what you mean, like, hell, in season 4 her status amounted to nothing, so I could understand your frustration.
Season 5 did her better, I think, at least.
@Arifproject
Don’t worry guy. so long as downvotes exist, your oc will thrive. they may change downvotes to a retarded hide icon, but people will hit that eye icon with the intent to downvote the image.
so she did not get fired. the salt exists forever :P.
but ya i am both unhappy because of your oc and because its just compmletely stupid. it risks turning things into an echo chamber, especially when they can’t tell how many people have blocked it.
so continue drawing her and posting her in defiance!!!
@Mike
I also agree that she still has had great moments in the show, Its just that her character is permanently marred by Hasbros’ meddling. And that it had the potential to be addressed so much better than the way it was.
The implementation and usage of it is my main problem, still today.
“Where were you? Downvoting squirrels?! You’re fired!”
*5 hours later*
“Oh right, you’re un-fired, I need you, come here!”
Yo!
interesting, i think :3
And there was much rejoycing.
Let us keep the tag “the day downvote died” to remind everyone what horrors that will bring in the long run.
I wouldn’t be so worried. We didn’t kill her. We gave her a promotion.
He offline now. I gonna chat him after he wake up. I wish he ok.

I’m a natural optimist. =p Which is probably why I got so attached to the show and its characters so quickly.
