- Chaos Cross is the first born son and second child of Discord and Celestia. Born not long after his sister Topsy, Chaos was evidently more like his father at first than his mother; However, as Chaos got older, he started taking things more seriously and began living up to his duties as Prince.
- When Chaos and Topsy were very little, they wandered into the Everfree Forest and came into contact with the Chimera. To protect his sister, Chaos stood up to the Chimera and in result, lost his left eye. (The whole eye, its an empty socket) He ended up being saved by his mother, who sent the Chimera running with a powerful spell. As a colt, this was traumatizing, and made him realize he needed to become stronger, he needed to be there to be able to protect the ones he loved without having to be saved in return. It didn’t help that the other foals their age began whispering behind his back and running from him when they saw his scarred and empty eye socket. So Chaos began wearing an eye patch, and he continued to wear it long into adulthood. The eyepatch has become kind of a staple now.
- Chaos has an interesting friendship with Nova, a kind of understanding towards one another. When Nova’s eye was damaged during the Dragon War and she lost sight in her right eye, she went to Chaos for advice and therapy to learn how to live with her missing eyesight.
Along with her likeness of now being sightless in one eye, Chaos admired the fact she too wanted nothing more than to protect those she loved. They may not be best friends, but the two spend a lot of time together even after her therapy sessions. (This, of course, makes Xipilli a bit uneasy - However Chaos has no interest in Nova romantically)
- Due to spending so much time with Nova, Chaos also got to know her daughter, Quetzalli, and eventually became one of her foal sitters. (Quetzalli’s choice) She liked Chaos and how fluffy his mane was, she gave him the nickname “Criss Cross” and think’s of him as a lion rather than a pony. Despite his tough and serious nature, Chaos loves children, and would gladly play tea party with her whenever she asked him to.
- When his little brother, Kerfuffle, came along, he was very excited to have a brother; but he also knew Kerfuffle would be a handful. Kerfuffle had a knack for chaos magic pretty much out of the womb.. With Topsy’s help, they began teaching Kerfuffle how to control his powers so they weren’t so… destructive.
- Although ponies are still intimidated by him, he’s actually quite a gentle stallion; and they know he is. But when he gets angry or annoyed, ponies still run the other way without hesitation. (Or just back away slowly)
I suppose that’s true.
The mark might not necessarily be linked to his personality and behavior. Some of the characters have cutie marks that have family related cutie marks (like the Apple Family for example).
Not really? I mean it might. I just can’t tell because the description doesn’t reveal much about his personality and behavior.
It feels more like the symbol represents the events of his birth and not his personality and talents.
It does look exactly like it but with sun elements in it as well. Given both of his parents, that cutie mark is rather fitting.
Or does his cutie mark look like the star of chaos undivided?
