Yeah, I had those too but the ones during the Revenge of the Sith era had ankles, knees, hips, waist, shoulders, elbows, wrists and a ball on the neck allowing head tilting. The clones could realistically sit in a Jeep with another in the back manning the gun. So much better than the same size figures available today for the same price.
That’s why I was happy with the Minis. Cute, looks more like what’s on-screen, no hair to get messy and articulated. When Shimmy and Glimmy want to get in a Cobra and fly away, they can.
First Hasbro started doing away with knees and elbows on the small Star Wars figures
I stopped paying a lot of attention to Star Wars toys in the early ’90s, but I had quite a few of the Kenner toys in the late ’70s and throughout the ’80s, and none of those figures had elbow or knee articulation.
Hahaha you’ve basically taken the words out of my mouth.
The success of the minis is that they’re more show accurate, cute, and not horrid brushable dolls. They’re not a stark rip-off of Barbie or Monster High with hideous facial features and barely-recognizable colors or clothes that makes it difficult to tell who is who. They’re also more collectible; good for displays and showing off in a collection. You didn’t have that with some of the previous.

I think the success of the minis is their portability and they are articulated, also because they look a lot like the Japanese Chibis.
your current filter.According to Amy Mebberson’s intsagram, these are called the “Ultra Minis”, so it sounds like these aren’t new versions of the minis, so much as an extension of the line.
I like that too but they’re typically 7 inches or taller like Saber Lily or Mara Jade.
It seems like a step backwards. Like selling a car with no doors and you have to go through the windows to get in or out.
My point is why change the design? They are practically action figures that you can use on other things besides EQG sets. They’re really cute as well. If the stiffs cost as much as the current minis…

Some people prefer blind bag figures to brushables? The scale on these is really too small for proper articulation anyway.
I prefer poseable figures but I don’t see what’s wrong with buying statues/vinyl toys if they look nice
