I all just depends how you read someone else’s text emotionally.  
My solution, if there’s no swearing or name calling, it’s a mediocre tone with not much emotion, because when over reading someone else’s text and trying to calculate it, you’ll only end with bad results.

I actually never did think he was seriously racist somehow in real life, that’s why when I took a step back, I reread was was written and realized how it might have appeared that way. Your initial reaction seemed completely out of nowhere to me, that’s why it didn’t make sense to me. I figured you were almost purposefully overreacting to me, but after a couple of minutes I realized I didn’t communicate something quite the way I meant to; I roleplayed a too strong in the comments - should have just been left to one comment alone. And it was a dumb “joke” anyway that wasn’t worth it. You can call that flip-flopping or backpedaling all you want and I suppose there would be no way for me to prove otherwise, because I can’t actually show you what was in my mind before. But I can assure you - I didn’t mean to actually accuse anyone of actual real racism and I honestly thought it didn’t really look like that.
 
As for that first jab in the last post - you were being extremely passive aggressive, it felt warranted, at least the condescending part. But looking back now with the other problem, now I am unsure if I didn’t start that tone with you first. If that’s what triggered that, I am actually sorry, that really was not my intention, or at the very least, it didn’t feel like it was. In retrospect, the line “ I think the only one that really needs to calm down is you….” seems much more hostile than I thought it did. I was just wanting to say you should chill and that I wasn’t seriously “offended” by any of this.
 
If all this happened in person I honestly don’t think any of this would have escalated like this. I guess it just goes to show just how drastically different the written word can be from speech or thought.

Now you’re just being a condescending dick. I admit my mistake I probably should have made it more obvious I wasn’t really serious when using the word “racist” - they’re fictional characters with fictional, non-existent races/species ancestory, and I wrongfully figured it was obvious. I’ll be more careful with my humor in the future.

Hm, I’m as calm as anyone can be, you can really only blame yourself for reading text as someone that isn’t calm. So sorry you made that mistake. But when you start calling throwing the term racist at someone on the internet like it’s the word of the day, that’s when you really should just sit right down and REALLY calm yourself.
 
So yeah, don’t take this cartoon or this person’s art that serious. Really. It’s painting some pretty weird pictures when you go that derogatory because someone point out something you didn’t like.

Species, race, whatever. My point is I don’t see a problem with interspecies relations if they’re both intelligent and both count as people. It’s not like taking advantage of an animal.

I was half screwing around and half expressing an actual opinion. I think the only one that really needs to calm down is you…. Maybe my last message seemed more serious or “offended” than I intended but my original opinion on this matter hasn’t changed. It’s still tacky to say it’s wrong for a dragon to be shipped with a pony because it’s “bestiality”.

Where in the holy hell did you get race from? Are you really trying to dig out random words and try to pretend to be offended? While bestiality isn’t the right word for it, I understand what Savage is getting at, since they’re 2 separate species. But pulling up terms of racist makes even less sense than his word usage! Are you really serious right now? This is a cartoon! Yikes…
