It’s hard to say. No one’s ever successfully measured an akaname’s tongue. Typically it results in being coiled up and fiercely licked. It’s a good thing they’re not malicious since even an akaname foal could easily overpower and bind a full grown pony XD

I personally wouldn’t be able to identify an Akaname (or any other monster or monster pony) through those behaviors, because I wouldn’t think those behaviors were even the least bit odd, because they all apply to me too.

Also a bit from their behavior: they avoid bright light, don’t like crowds or open spaces, and prefer dark enclosed spaces :D

It’s as of yet unknown. So far there’s been no observed limitations other than the longer the tongue hangingnout of the mouth, the harder and more exhausting it is to control. Pretty much nothing is known about how they work: just that they feed on any manner of filth left behind by magical entities and that they’re native to Tartarus (but can escape fairly easily) :P

Well, Twilight once asked to measure it (which is considered to be quite a lewd request in Akaname culture), but we never did get the measurements, and I’m not certain that Twilight did either.

Has her tongue ever been fully measured? The mystery is killing me. And does it grow over time or is it some magical thing that pretty much expands infinitely?

They don’t get them. They look very much like ponies but they’re very different biologically. It’s pretty much the only way to tell a pony is actually an akaname unless you manage to notice they have absolutely no scent whatsoever :D
