Playing devil’s advocate, it’s pony Rarity who’s been attracted to those guys. This is the first on-screen crush they’ve shown human Rarity having. (Which is actually pretty fortunate for human Rarity, because it means she didn’t have to deal with Blueblood or Trendehoof’s bullshit, but that’s another discussion entirely.)

If they are able have a gay couple in the show, then they should be able to give the same type of confirmation as all the straight couples. If they can’t do both, then it is not canon.

I’m not saying they have to just because this other show is doing it, I’m saying it’s ridiculous to think that just because it’s not “in your face” doesn’t mean it’s not there at all, and that sensibilities have changed enough in these modern times to the point where other shows are doing it - I don’t know if MLP will do it considering production on G4 has wrapped and we know next to nothing about what the S9 episodes will have aside from retirement and hopefully a satisfactory finale to wrap everything up (I don’t know if EqG is gonna keep going though) but given how things are going, I’d assume G5 might bring something to the table if they really want to test the waters
for the meantime, let’s just enjoy what we have

They can’t mention that AJ’s parents are dead either, but it was strongly implied, so it’s 100% canon.

why not? The Loud House is getting away with it - I think you need to realize that it’s 2019 where times are changing and not 1999 when “concerned parents” ruled the airwaves because they don’t want their kids learning what their parents don’t/can’t understand

How the hell is holding gay couples to the same standards as straight ones false? I know they can’t have a gay couple in the show, which is exactly how I know that no gay ships are canon. If they can’t have it in the show, then it’s not canon.
