Ok, your comment made me laugh at the sheer amount you overestimate the ponies and underestimate the Imperium. The Imperium would just exterminatus the entire planet if the natives put up that much of a fight, and considering the ponies most advanced technology is the steam engine… well I don’t like their chances.

If a world is deemed unconquerable by the Imperium, then they will declare Exterminatus on said world, destroying all life. So even if Celestia’s forces were to secessfully drive back the full might of the Imperium of Man, their victory would be short lived.

It’s likely they would try to conquer it. The elements of harmony would bethe first resort. If that failed, their would be bloodshed. Which would result in Celestia shooting the sun at their ships. Their ground forces wouldn’t stand a chance against Earth ponies with unicorn support. Also Big Macintosh. Pegasi soldiers could take on their air force with more unicorn support. And rainbow dash. And I seriously doubt that scary looking trees are the most sanity-bending illusions Luna can come up with. So basicly, Equestria will never be conquered by the imperium. They’ll have to chalk it up as unconquerable, and pray that Celestia doesn’t come after them.

The races most likely to warrant that reaction (aside obviously ponies) are the Eldar (Psychic douchebag racist Space Elves) and the Tau (Space communist grays with super-awesome technology).
